    Hope everything is sorted DS.
Thank you! Yes, I think Mum's affairs were very simple, and two or three weeks should see it all sorted.

Going through everything in her house, though, is another matter! We have spent nearly three weeks doing quite a lot of it, and I think we have covered the most important things, but there are still stacks of clothes and a whole assortment of glassware and assorted treasures/junk ...

I'm back in Donny in 2-3 weeks, I know some charity places will come and collect things. I use the Cancer Research shop on Scot Lane, as they are always very grateful for any donations. If we can help at all then just drop us a line. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?

Thanks, DG. I'm back in France, but will be back in Donny soon - not quite sure when. I took some big bags full to the British Heart Foundation, as both Mum and Dad died (officially) from heart disease. Mind you, I wasn't impressed by their welcome, but then ...

Time for brighter stuff, though, perhaps.

    Bloomin' hot here!

Erm, can't think of light-hearted stuff. Seen the pound plummeting against the euro, folks? Can't believe the British media are full of tales of woe about the end of the euro as we know it - yet the pound has fallen yet again.

Well, the guy who wanted a swimming pool has decided it wasn't as important as he thought it was and has made a (very low) offer on our house which we have accepted.

Official valuation tomorrow! Let's hope they value it at enough to cover his mortgage. I'm really nervous as this will stop the sale stone dead.

The other thing is our paperwork. I hope it is deemed to be in order (it was when we bought it, but this is Spain we are talking about). However, if it isn't, it can be made correct for about 4k euros, so all would not be lost (just a load of money).

We have seen a flat we like, in the develpment we wanted, on at £69950 - but there has been a change of plan about this. We are going to put down a hefty deposit on it and have a small mortgage, which our son will pay. We will have all three names on the deeds. He and his girlfriend will live there and learn to be property owners and we will have our house back. :)

Ahhhhhhhh time in Spain over then? That's a shame, your little village sounded lovely.

Hope all your plans work out.

Newbridge Crescent, that takes me back I used to live there those flats weren't there then. Are they at the town end, we used to live down the other end by the tennis club - happy days.
The only thing that is constant is change.

Well we would have liked to stay a little longer, but the move was never meant to be permanent. We put the house up for sale because we are expecting the market to get worse rather than better and thought if we left it we would never sell it.

Our village is lovely and we will miss it but we have friends there and can always visit.

    Hope all goes through OK.

    Thanks for your good wishes.
