Hi guys, just a quickie and i thought this would be quite a good thread to jump on and ask... Do we have any members currently living in Ayia Napa, Cyprus? the reason for me wanting to know is that my partner and i are getting married there in September and she is struggling to find a hairdresser over there and i thought if one of you guys live locally you could maybe put us in touch with one that we would otherwise not have found.

    Sorry for been cheeky

    :)

Hi Happy Chappy - no Greek expats afaik, but welcome to the board anyway.

Hi Jamesb too, although I can't answer your question.

I'm sure your hotel should be able to arrange a hairdresser or at least point you in the direction of one.

A quick hello from us. Still in France in the Caravan due back to the UK Friday morning, just visiting McD for the wi-fi.
Just had word from my neighbour in Spain she had sold her house in less than a month to a Norweigian couple.

We're back in sunny Wolverhampton after our three weeks in Pembrokeshire. Nice to be back in the old place even though it looks like student digs. (Cleaning/washing up are not on the lads' agenda!).

Never been to Pembrokeshire, and have always wanted to. One of these days ... Trouble is, I don't want to go in summer, and at other times, it's probably not too good weather-wise.

Pembrokeshire is beautiful in all seasons/weathers but I agree it can be a little wet! But I don't mind if the weather isn't hot and sunny all the time. If I'd wanted that I'd have stayed in Spain (which is far too hot and bright for me in the summer).

Yes ... Our little corner is forecast to be the hottest place in France tomorrow at 36C. Time to hide indoors - except I shall be at the tourist office all morning and attending appointments in the afternoon.

I'm absolutely furious, and need to let off steam. This probably isn't the right place to do it, so please excuse me this digression.

My 84-year-old mum has today received a letter from her council saying that they have reason to believe that she is not entitled to receive the reduction in council tax for single person occupancy.

She absolutely does live alone. I haven't been back there for a period of longer than a week. However, I do have one bank account, one savings account and one credit card account which continue to show my address as hers. Occasionally, bits of mail for me are sent there, if it's more convenient. I am officially the owner of the property.

I can think of no other reason for anyone to suspect that someone else lives at mum's address.

So why does the council think she has someone else there? How do they get their information? What kind of police state is the UK these days?

My mum is very upset. She actually said to me, "It made me wonder what the point is of being here."

    I'm fuming.
