This has become a pointless thread and an extended discussion about a
mediocre deal.
If you can't take the point that ebay is not the wonderland you make it out as, fair enough. I tried to explain to you, but it's like banging your head against a brickwall. Here's hoping you do get 'done over' the next time you buy on ebay as it might teach you something, as you are obviously oblivious to any form of risk.
PS - there's a guy down the pub wants £250 for a 32' LCD TV, I'll tell him to put it on Ebay as there are obviously some other suckers like you that have absolutely no idea!0 -

You are one of the most arrogant hypocrites I have ever had the misfortune to come across. You really can't stand it that someone could have an opinion different to your own can you?
Also - your post proves my point about how people are far more rude on the internet than in real life. How dare you look down your nose at others? I can't stand people with a superiority complex. I'm betting you wouldn't say that to someone you've just met "down the pub".
I'd like to add that unlike you, I wish no misfortune to anybody on this forum (including you stphnstevey).Match betting 2/04/08 - present profit £607

For goodness sake, Grow up. That was uncalled for and so very childish.0 -
A lot of people are missing the point, and seem not to have to worry about outgoings too much, other than peace of mind.
We live in a trickle down economy and always have. Retail succeeds on many levels, from Harrods down to the car boot. The OP bought and is happy with his TV from a medium sized company (one of many), who happens to have a retail shop on Ebay, not just some guy in the pub who sells on Ebay.
The company buys by the container load from the large national retailers like Argos, Comet, DSG, Tesco, Boots Aldi, etc plus Littlewoods and other catalogue stores. Who cannot be bothered to sort through or test items returned, display or discontinued stock and fill containers to be sold to the highest bidder or regulars.
These containers end up in the warehouses of firms like the one in Manchester who then sort into condition ( new, or not so), test, grade and value, and sell on to market traders, (even Bigpockets
) and the general public.
Thus allowing folks who cannot afford to pay full whack, the possibility to enjoy new technology that suits their pockets.
So dont knock it. Nothing lasts forever.ac's lovechild0 -
Are you for real?
Edit again - John lewis don't even seem to sell a philips 42" plasma! Have you just made this little fact up to prove a point?
Can you post a link to verify your claim?
I don't need to, I actually purchased one from John Lewis last month, as I said, free 5 year warranty, free delivery, less money, you work it out, you don't need to be Einstien.0 -

Your right, I apologise for stooping to your level...

To be a hypocrite I would have needed to act in contradiction to my beliefs or feelings - I have never done that so your post is false.
