37" HD ready LCD TV £299

After several days of looking arround, I've just bought one.

An absolute bargain. Built in freeview gives a fantastic picture.
I've got standard virgin going in through scart - this gives a poor picture (poor upscaling by the TV?)
I think this can easily be fixed by getting an upscaling digibox, in my case a V+ (I may be wrong). Even so, stunning for under 300 quid! :T
I should add they are factory reconditioned / display models

Not so sure about those warranty terms - if it was a factory refurb it would usually come with a years warranty - which means it has probably been refurbed (i.e repaired) by the seller.
I would be cautious of any investment of £325 with only 30 day warranty - more especially on budget LCDs ...0 -
Ebay = don't spend more than yo can afford to lose0
-
I didn't think eBay links were allowed as 'bargains' on here?0
-
I had added this post to give others the chance to get the same bargain I did. Now I wish I hadn't bothered.
First off, The price is £299 not £325. I collected mine, so payed no delivery.
Secondly, regarding only getting a 1 month warranty, its a 37" HD Flat panel TV for under 300 quid. What do you expect? They often cost more than this second hand with no warranty! If a short warrant worries you, you can go and buy one from the highstreet for £600.
As for it being on ebay, if ebay shops are not allowed, I was unaware of this. The shop do have there own website that does online sales, though the TV is £330 there http://www.wizardprice.com
Whatever you say about warranties etc, there is no way you can tell me that the 37" HD LCD TV I got for under £300, boxed, and in perfect condition was not a bargainMatch betting 2/04/08 - present profit £607

I guess it depends what your looking for
Alot of the bargains on here are from reputable shops, large names and with normal buying garantees and waranties.
For you it was a bargain because you were willing to take the risk (risk = not actually getting item, faulty, damaged, no warranty, no come back).
As much as I am up for taking a calcualted risk, I calculated this risk was to high. The chance of losing all your money from a non-reputable buyer or receiving a faulty item was more risk than the reward of getting a reduced price.0 -
I get the same feeling about this as i would having to pay after getting my car wheel clamped.
You take the risk on this one0 -

You take the risk on this one

Um....no.
Not actually getting the item : I collected it from the store
It being faulty : They set it up infront of me (They say they test all units before dispatch. Infact, on the same bench they had at least 20 other Tvs with delivery notes laid out infront of them)
Damaged : I was able to inspect it, whilst it was working.
No warranty : one month warranty
Edit - just noticed: "non-reputable seller" - they have almost 14,000 feedback! Also as stated earlier, they are a large Ltd company, with a large non-ebay website as well!
No come back: It was a fairly large Ltd company. There are numerous consumer protection laws.
The item I recieved was in new condition, fully packaged, boxed with all accesseries.Match betting 2/04/08 - present profit £607

Buying at their store helps with the risk element - vast majority of people probably won't be as close as you to their store so won't have this added protection.
There are millions of people selling on ebay - can you say everyone you order from:
a) Going to recieve your order
b) Receive a decent quality product exactly as you oredered
Etc Etc Etc
PS - Ltd means nothing. Anyone can set one up in half a day for £50. Same as anyone can setup a website to rival Amazon, Play etc for around £250 in a day. Then do as they like, take your money and disappear to do it all over again.
You have to be very naive to give £300 over to someone else over the internet with no garantees you would get anything at all0 -

A fair point...though I did travel 50 miles to get mine...There are millions of people selling on ebay - can you say everyone you order from:

You would have a point if I had posted a general thread, saying "you can get cheap TVs on ebay", but I didn't. I linked to a shop that I had bought from myself. A shop whose premises I'd visited, and whose staff I had met in person.PS - Ltd means nothing. Anyone can set one up in half a day for £50. Like I said...they were a fair size company. I saw one of there warehouses, and believe me, there was a massive amount of stock. We are not talking about a business someone has set up with a few grand. You have to be very naive to give £300 over to someone else over the internet with no garantees you would get anything at all
Thats very patronising of you. Are you suggesting that myself and other users of MSE are incapable of doing basic checks before buying from a company? Fast come/go rip off merchants tend not to have 14,000 feedbacks on ebay...
Anyway...nobody says you have to take up the offer like I did. I must add, however, I have really have enjoyed tonights big screen tv...Match betting 2/04/08 - present profit £607
