Is there any way I can get my saved email and Outlook Address book from my hard drive?
Flipping Outlook Express will not open - just a "ding" sound when I click on it??
I have tried restoring the System to an earlier point but the PC said it was not successful...
I am mid virus scan now to see if there is some problem I am not aware of.
I really do need to get at saved email - can anyone help me please?

Could it be your link that's broken, can you go to Start / Run and type this in:
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"
Then report back any errors ?0 -

Bite the bullet and install Windows Live Mail - it's a replacement for OE which is going to be obsolete in a couple of months time.
You can even have webmail accounts on it0 -

Download and install Mozilla Thunderbird, it is better than Outlook Express and it can import your settings and mailbox from outlook, I use it for my personal POP3 Email accounts and it is very stable and most of all it is free.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0
