hemsby has a great beach, a really great beach long and wide with sand dunes to mess around in
it sort of has a main drag along which there are loads of places to eat (mainly consisting of something and chips lol) and some arcades, mini golf, tat shops etc
there is also a pool, a small play area and some trampolines.. there is a market and boot sale a couple of times a week
if theres anything else u want to know shout as we have been there every year since my son was about 4 and he loves it

We're off on our free Pontins holiday tomorrow and were thinking of stopping off before we get to the camp for tea - maybe fish and chips - any locals recommend any good local restaurant or takeaway?

We've just come back from Pontins Hemsby and had a great time - there's definately a bus stop right outside the camp and there are timetables for this at reception so hopefully they will be going to Great Yarmouth.
I'd definately recommend Tashamarie's chippy next door to the cheap clothing shopon the right in Hemsby (which incidentally is only a 5 minute walk away) - I hope the weather will stay nice for you - it was overcast yesterday but the children still had a fantastic time running up and down the sand dunes.:T0 -
hi
I live in norfolk up on the north norfolk coast , the best things I would say is to at least have a day trip to Norwich.
The area around hemsby is served by first bus and the prices to and from hemsby and yarmouth should be about £5 return at most for an adult , however they have weekly tickets so if you are going to yarmouth a lot then I would suggest it as will save you a few pounds.
If you descide to go to norwich I would defintly say a visit to the the castle as it is reallt interesting , nowrich has lots of shops and other interesting attractions , I would also look at hiring a boat for the day from either stalham or wroxham and take a trip on the broads as it can allow you to get to some places that are quite hard to get to by bus .
if there is any more information you need just drop us a pm and I will help you with anything you need

Mmm,chips with garlic mayonnaise from Yarmouth market.Yarmouth isn't the most "polished" place though, just so you know.0

chips and gravy on yarmouth market. Lovelllllly!!!
Also if you go to Norwich castle then I think you can still walk through to the norfolk regiment museum, when I went (ages and ages ago) it was done out like a WWI trench with the sounds of bombs and stuff.
If you go onto

and register you can get money off vouchers for restaurants, printable ones. But they do change every so often so keep an eye on them.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
There is an excellent Museum in Great Yarmouth - The Time & Tide Museum. Signposted clearly. We spent HOURS in there last summer and kids & grown ups alike loved it. It is in an old herring smokehouse and traces the history of fishing in the town and it is staggering the number of Scottish girls who came down here every year for the herring fleets.
Sound effects, smells, helpful staff, loads for kids to do, wartime stuff, videos, audio, nice cafe, reconstruction of old Yarmouth Rows etc etc
Yarmouth has had a lot of money spent on it, the main areas are nicely paved now, flowers everywhere and I think its a lot better than many seaside resorts.
It's also a nice train ride from Yarmouth to Norwich and you can then get off train at Norwich, cross the road and catch a riverboat cruise opposite. See Norwich from the river!0
