its definatley petrol, i think its just the thread thats corroded and not the filter he's managed to stop it at the moment with some ptfe tape and will get to a garage in the morning. He only bought the car in march so he's not had it long

ha ha, i did once have a fiat seciento that i wrote off that had a petrol leak from the tank instead only noticed once i had wrote it off that the petrol tank had been recalled

I was lucky
