If the fuel pump is off it will stop once it empties the pipe0

how would he do that and would he be able to drive it still or will that cut the petrol from the engine off?? i dont understand this im a girl

He said its definatly the filter is corroded through on the thread? does that make sense?0 -
Leave the car off, put some rags where the petrol is leaking to soak up fuel, go to your nearest motor factors or Halfords and buy a new filter, undo the bolt at the bottom and top and do up the new filter.
That in my experience is how easy a fuel filter is, may be different on your car.
Call the AA?0 -

A filter is less than £10.
How much is his life and those injured when the petrol ignites worth?0 -
well the thing is he's at work at the moment he's on nights so he needs to get home im thinking it can do him till morning to stop it !!!!ing the petrol out now so he can get home and get it sorted0

tell him to get a lift from a work mate to get a new filter in the morning,is the car definatly petrol, not diesel?
if its diesel then he may be safe enough to drive it.
if the filter is corroded then i would also get it serviced as it takes a while for a filter to corrode,so the oil filter could go the same soon....work permit granted!0
