Setanta Sports price increase from this Sunday

Options
Wasnt at all sure where to put this, so if it needs moving, apologies!

Setanta are putting up their prices from THIS SUNDAY. I didn't know until this morning!

New prices:
For satellite the price will go up from £9.99 per month to £12.99 per month.

For DTT the price will go up from £9.99 per month to £10.99 per month.

Additionally Setanta are also introducing a new annual price for their customers:

For satellite £155.88 (12 months subscription paid in advance).

For DTT- £131.88 (12 months subscription paid in advance).

Additionally, as of the 1st of June, Setanta have a new Web only offer:

Get 3 months free Multibox (£2.99 per month for Setanta in another room thereafter) for anyone who subscribes online.

How is the 12 month advance payment an incentive? lol

Anyway, i Just called to cancel. They offered me £7.50 a month for six months, which I've taken.

I've seen nothing to suggest its for new customers only, and they didn't tell me otherwise when I phoned them either.

Well I have not had notification of any increase and if they take the DD incorrectly, that will be end of contract

No disrespect of OP but I find this difficult to believe. Sky increase their prices every year just before the footie season starts. They know they have drop off on premium services over the summer. It would make no logical sense at all for Satanta to attempt to take more money when the main service they provide that their customers want is not on. People will leave in droves.

I got it from here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=804362

When I told them I was cancelling because of the increase, they didn't deny it. VERY dodgy if they've not told customers (I don't ever get anything in the post from them).
