    Congratulations to you both.

My friend too had natural triplets who are now 5. It is difficult financially but they do manage. They are lucky that each set of grandparents 'sponsors' a child buying new school uniform and shoes etc. Therefore they are only left with one set of school clothes to buy. They really appreciate the help and feel very lucky.

Congratulations! Three little angels for you! :A:A:A I had three under fives at one time and loved it (most of the time) :D even though it was hectic to say the least!

The advice re contacting your local college where they train nursery nurses is good. Another source of help, especially if you don't have any family to help you is the organisation 'Homestart'... http://www.home-start.org.uk/ they are brilliant! They are a charity who have volunteers to support families with small children.

I know nothing about cars so don't know how sound this advice is but I read on another thread about a Fiat Multipla being a great car for families with three children who don't want or can't afford a typical MPV. Apparently it has three full sized seats in a row at the back (as well as three in the front) which each have proper three-point restraints so you can get three baby car seats in a row... which I would imagine would be much better than in a more typical MPV where you'd have to have one right over the far back where you couldn't see the baby properly. They are a little eccentric looking as a car but the write ups I've read so far make them sound very appealing...and there are some very good deals on Ebay for several with very high rated sellers.
    Good luck

Lots of good advice already given but I would suggest you speak to mums and dads at local under 1's group they can advise you on what purchases they found essential and what they wish they hadn't brought.

Another idea is if you decide to bottle feed start off by giving it to them at room temperature. saves alot of hassle warming it esp in night. If baby is not used to it warm then it won't know any different!

re-storing nappies. I had a nappy stacker. I bought my first from a car-boot and then later my MIL made me one from old curtain material, covered thick cardboard and a wooden coat-hanger cut to size. It meant it could be hung from the hook on the back of baby's bedroom door and took up no 'ground' space. This was for disposable nappies though, you may need to re-adjust size for re-usables. Don't buy new though as I've just looked and they are expensive!

You will find LOTS of bargains at carboot sales.....right time of year for them too.

It always amazes me how many beautiful kiddies clothes are on sale for 10p!!!

Having a small house wont matter too much until they are 2 or 3....you will manage. And I would suggest not going for a bigger car just yet. Again, you will manage :)

    Good Luck :)

I'm sure you'll get advice about this nearer the time, but I am sure if you have triplets or more, you are entitled to extra help at home from your local council. Just a few hours a week from a nursery nurse. This is certainally the case 15 years ago when my neighbour had triplets and when i had my DD (3 years ago) there was a woman who was having triplets who also spent a lot of time in hospital throughout her pregnancy with me and she was telling me about this extra help she would be able to apply for after the babies were born.

All I can say is ASDA, get all the ASDA stuff, clothes, sleeping bags and if you are bottle feeding ready made formula as you ain't gonna have time.........

There is a thread on this board entitled What did you buy for baby and never use. Might be worth a look.

From a gift prospective. Try and make sure you have an list organised by someone. You end up with too much clothes in one size that never gets worn and people can be so generous you might as well get what you need!!

Wow!! Lucky you, did loads of the hospital staff come running in to look at the scan? I always said that if we had had a multiple birth we would find out the sexes, to get specific items ready.

I'd definitely go down the car boot sale route, loads of bargains there. I'd look into the cost comparison for washable nappies vs disposables too, unless you can get a lot of freebies, when they are tiny you will need 24-30 a day.

Also, be prepared for a lot of attention when you venture out with them, people will be really interested and stop to chat.

Also, start looking on Ebay for a triple pram/pushchair as these are very expensive and hard to obtain.

Out of interest, I did a search on ebay for 'triple buggy' and got 11 auction hits plus some ebay shops selling triple stuff and some sponsored links. Obviously 11 auctions aren't many for the whole country! One of the auctions listed suggest you look at the Tamba website for reviews of double/triple buggies. I would think this is a very good idea as, when I had three under fives, I had a double width buggy for a while that I found extremely difficult to maneuver... then someone gave me a tandem one and it made all the difference! Double and triple buggies are just too expensive to make a mistake with!

Another thing I found interesting though (which you might find useful) is that I noticed there is a category on ebay specifically for twins and multiples:

Listed in category: Baby > Twins & Multiples
