    :hello: All

Yep, tis miserable in Kent/London too... and a weather report from Ireland (my mum!): "Gloomy" :rotfl:

I have done all my work, so now can sit chatting with you guys, and trying to figure out how to raise £1K by the end of next month... :rotfl:

Lucy - dont feel bad, i had a down day yesterday... could you not try and save up £2 coins or something towards your trip?

    Thanks Amy.

It just seems like such a huge amount today. But it will happen.

Loving 'gloomy'! Sort of sums it up. Belfast was gloomy when I lived there... dangerous to at the time!!!

You're welcome, and £1K is a lot in a lump sum, but over 12 months its £83.40 (give or take a couple of pence!). That makes it sound so much better.

Yep bless my mum, she is coming over end of July and i think she is hoping for some sunshine! :rotfl:

:rotfl: She does know about British summers doesn't she??

If I think about it sensibly I need about £500 by christmas, so I can look for a flight in the sale and then if I book for say Sept I would have loads of time to find spending money!! (while trying to clear my cc along the way )

I think you should look forward to your trip. Making a plan of where the money will come from may help? It may set your DFD back a couple of months but if the experience is worth it where's the harm?

Perhaps for birthday/xmas etc you could ask for dollars to spend or cash towards your flight?

I know this board is all about getting rid of debts but if that means life can't be enjoyed then our existence would be a pretty miserable one. So long as things are on track and the spend on 'extras' is controlled I can't see any harm or need to feel guilty about having a bit of freedom?

    All things in moderation surely?

This is true and I would really be looking forward to it, if I knew how I was going to pay for it.

I think I need to really hit Ebay and try and raise some cash like that! I was aiming for a £100 op a month on my loan which I guess I could stop for a while, or at least until I have enough for my flight. And then start say £50 a month after that point.

I'll have a think and see what I come up with. But I think Ebay, carboots and things like that are going to help.

I snuck this in when you weren't looking:p

You're already sounding much more positive!

I haven't done any ebaying yet. For some reason I'm a bit apprehensive about it all:confused:
