Although I think the main purpose of the OP is to make use of their existing PS2 games which the 40GB PS3 doesn't work with. It's rather deficient in other areas as well, it's a wonder why they introduced it to replace essentially what was actually a better product."She is quite the oddball. I've got a broken PS3 I'm selling on ebay for my brother-in-law, How do I know if it's a 60gb or a 40gb he can't find the box/manual ! I'm useless with these things !Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0

if you go into something like hard drive or memory it should list free space and used space or something similar,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

Yeh it is a bit weird why they got rid of the 60gb, i did read sony were considering doing an external hard drive, heres a link

If it was simply the hard drive then I could almost see how they could justify it as an easy upgrade later but there's also half the number of USB ports, no flash card reader, no super audio CD support (not a big loss but still...), as well as loss of PS2 backward compatibility. They've cut out quite a bit there, normally they'd be adding features over production life rather than stripping them out. Yet our overseas cousins not only retain all those features in the 80 GB model but being 80 GB are getting a larger drive as well."She is quite the oddball.
