I doubt you would get ill from eating them. I think that they may turn out a bit chewy and the texture may change, but theyre not gonna do any harm. Meat is fine if you cook and then refreeze so I dont see why these should be any different.

    Afternoon all

Made it through my 5th NSD in a row  eeeeee im getting the knack of this no spending thing:p

Have enough potatoes for 2 more meals..so was planning doing a pasta dish and a tortilla wrap meal to save me having to shop..then remembered that hubby is golfing wed/thur/fri/sat and sun so will require no lunches :T plus as we aren't sure what time he will be back in the evenings he has said just stick a salad on a plate for him or he will have toast and something as he will eat a proper lunch at the golf course :D so im going to use those days as a chance to use some freezer bits n bobs up for me:j
Have done roast chicken for lunch with some hm stuffing balls from the freezer, roast potatoes, carrots peas ...and green/kidney beans and sugar snaps from the garden..it was lovely... although we both decided that we wouldn't actually miss the meat if it wasn't there ...everything else was soooo nice :p
the sun is finally out...have had rain on n off for the last few days..but it does the veggies good :T and i have spent most of today x stitching and knitting :D now have 7 little stockings for the tree and another chunk of mums xmas pressie sewn....

Its hubbies birthday next monday... have his pressie sorted..he wanted a new driver..so he has got that should have been €200  but we get the tax off so it was €160...still a bit  for a non golfer like me who sees it as a stick with a lump on the end :rotfl: but it beats buying odds n sods that won't get used and end up costing more anyway:rolleyes:
So now i just have to decide if i should make him a birthday cake  there is only me and him,,, but i do have a bit of a fancying for one of my mums recipe lemon sponges :p ... so i think i might well do 1..i only need to get ground almonds as i have everything else in :T ... and he can always take a piece in with his lunches ;)
right -must get back to it..a bit more sewing and then onto another stocking:rotfl:
    have a great afternoon all:D
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5
  • Have added another £35 onto my total..not too bad.
Have planted out loads of things in pots to see what grows back for me. I really want to fit a greenhouse in somewhere..but will have to stick to pots for now.

Spent £30 on grocery shopping this weekend, mostly in Aldi but went to Mr. T today to get some of the ingredients for MrsMc's bread recipe and Non-Bio washing capsules- decided to try own brand whereas I normally buy Fairy. Also have started buying bits for Christmas when decent offers are on so bought some Lynx smellies for nephews. Determined to be organised with Christmas this year so I can relax in December rather than facing the crowds in town. Well done to everyone- we're half way through June today! Hope poorly people and pups feel better soon!

On a less Moneysaving note we had an expensive night out last night although had a great time cost us about £80- aargh!

Might list the cupboards tomorrow...... Also officially registering today as a NSD as planned- only will need milk tomorrow too so thats fine.
Anyone got a decent poached pear recipe ?
    Thanks in advance.

Well, freezers are now all sorted - have now re-loaded main one that defrosted with stuff from little freezer and defrosted that too - I thought while I could get everything into one I would get it over with:D .

Been to Mr T's and spent £25.74 on 2 x 6 pints milk, SR flour, coconut, yogurts, icing sugar, caster sugar, cherry toms (red to 45p for a while) 2 x jucee squash (reduced 69p), bananas, kitchen towel, pasta, marg, muffin cases, cucumber, 4 x peppers (as they're reduced at the mo, thought I would get a few and freeze them for cooking later) prepared mini carrots (reduced from £1.50 to 39p :j ), bleach, brekkie and a dish cover for the microwave (so sick of cleaning it out and DS & hubby never cover anything when they cook in it  ). Also had to get some biccies, h/eating bars & cereal for work - share them with friend at work coz we have split shifts and have to get reasonable stuff as that's what she buys - but saves me in long run as I have my breakfast there - i use works milk - and if I'm peckish, I have something there to snack on instead of buying from sandwich trolley, so I don't really mind and this should be my last time as leaving in two weeks to start new job :j :j :j.

Oh, by the way, Mr T's also have sugar puffs on at half price! only £1.27 for 625g box and the shreddies I got for work were only £1.50 for 750g - at least DS might have some breakfast now before leaving the house in the morning...

Anyway, still under budget at the moment for this week, and should help me get back on budget for the month - Here's hoping!!!

mrs mc...i have spent most of today x stitching and knitting :D now have 7 little stockings for the tree and another chunk of mums xmas pressie sewn....
oh pleeese Mrs Mc can we have a photo of your x-stitch that you're doing for your mum? i know i'm nosy but i've just started my x-stitching again, and forgot how much i enjoyed it :D

only had to spend a bit today, so i was able to put just over £20 in me sealed tin :j

start of a new budget for me tomorrow, but i've done a meal plan with stuff i've already got in the freezers, so i should only need bits&bobs this week, probably cereal, f&v, and dog food

just been out and watered my cuces and toms in the garden....they've got quite a few flowers on now :D wish my potatoes would hurry up and flower...the buds are there, but they're taking ages to open! i'm sure that once the flowers die, the spuds are ready to be picked. sure i read that somewhere?

hope you're all enjoying the sunshine whilst its here xx

Hi guys, as usual I haven't caught up with the thread. It's been sunny here for weeks now, so I have been in the garden when not working or posting on MSE! :rotfl:

The salad leaves are being picked on a daily basis now, the tomatoes have flowered, the potatoes are starting to flower and I've eaten the first couple of strawberries. (I should never have sat the tub so close to the washing line! Makes them irresistable! :o ) We're living off the store cupboard & freezer items, but I am now completely out of chicken! But as this is halfway through June, my target is looking manageable; I have only spent £10.71 of my £40 so far this month. I've a pot of carrot & coriander soup just made with the first crop of homegrown coriander I planted from seed, and I baked a tray of sponges yesterday, so I'm thinking soup for tea tonight followed by sponge & custard. I'm tempted to bake a couple of loaves this evening as I'm on to my last (reduced) loaf. I'm going to have to spend money on another pack of disposable gloves soon as I'm down to my last 2 pairs and there's no way my 'garden ingrained' hands are going anywhere near dough or pastry! Wish the rhubarb & apples would hurry up and grow, I can't wait to get started on the [STRIKE]homebrew[/STRIKE] pies and crumbles. :D
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
