I know it is weird, really.but the course i am on makes us really think about it. We have hidden prejudices and codes, in our makeup which we are totally unaware of. I am often cringing at something i have said for fear of offending someone, when in reality i have just over analysed the conversation..bloomin course!
still it does make you more self aware. I am supposed to do it as part of my reflective teaching practise....i think i have more hidden insights that i don't know what!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Bob what is the course you are doing ? Don't think I've seen you mention it before . Sounds interesting.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

It is a Masters in teaching and learning. I started it last year, and have been doing too much on it i reckon.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Wow that's great hun. I am sure that you can't 'do too much', what are you like ? You must be enjoying it. Most of my friends at school went into teaching, I went into banking. However one of those tests you posted yesterday I came out as Artisan and I do hanker to do arty crafty things, tried a few, but haven't really found 'the one' IYSWIM.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. I know what you mean. I like arts and crafts and minored in design and technology..but it never comes up as that for me.
I have a flitty brain i reckon, and am always interested in lots of stuff..i will just have a go, but it is probably to take my mind off doing another 5000 word essay!!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Ooh I defo have a flitty brain. Wouldn't mind a rest from it sometimes lol. But I have found that when I get engrossed in doing something creative it is really good for blocking all the other stuff out IYKWIM. The trouble with me is that I feel that if I'm doing something at home it should be housework. MSE is exempt from that rule of course :rolleyes:Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Absolutely agree. MSE is always exempt.
Mind i think it was a bad idea getting my own thread, as i am posting on here even more...bloomin eck!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Everning!! Just done test and it was different t yesterdays lol!! Came out INFP today!! I've had the test done "proper" and always found it interesting! People perceive me being extrvert but actually Im not!! I love my own space, hate crows and am the type to have few but close friends...Thankfully I am in the right job lol! Do you have to do learning styles analysis bob as part of you work? Always find it useful when supervising staff as know what they need rather than what I like IYKWIM - a very useful tool!
Is car boot selling tomorrow? I am going to buy as want to see if I cn get cheapie stereo! Nowt wrong with MSE posting!! What will we do with outselves when were DF eh!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
I am a bit like you in that. I have a few close friends and they are friends for life.
I also do learning styles...but i am not so sure it is that useful in the classroom. My thoughts on this ..is that in a small class you can cater for all individuals, in a larger class,it becomes nigh on impossible..however when spilt into groups..you can task set according to learning stlyes, but not always according to learning ability.
Then it gets interesting as then you begin to pare it down into individual learning. So, it goes set a task, let them do it in their own way, and look at results...sounds like seventies classrooms all over again.
I will be boring folk now..LOL.
Right off to get my ugly sleep for car boot tomorrow.
