Yes i usually do a 12" base, 10" middle and an 8" top. I can do smaller though as i have several sizes of tins.
If you priced it up in the shops, even Tesco's would work out at about £70 and that is a measly dry cake.
To make in a bakers...anything from £400.
I do all decs as handmade flowers, all with sugar paste and they can take hours on top.
I usually do them for family and as a favour. They look as good as a shops cake, and it is nice to think that they will be pleased with it.
On the other side of things i have sold another book. Phew, they really take the commision don't they? After expenses I am about 60p short of £50 profit..not bad for a few books knocking around the house.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Yay we want pictures! They sound very impressive. Used to work in a bakers and we ordered them from our main bakery for people, couldn't believe the prices the first time I saw them :eek:
