  • Well a mixed weekend so far.
Yesterday bought a new matress and pillows, which we hope will solve the rolling, lack of sleep and snoring problem. I felt very down about it even though is on 0% deal, and then i looked back at how much has been paid back this year, and it is in excess of £11,000. So i really should look on it as an investment and a good nights sleep. I may have to put off paying my car for a couple of months as with washing machine, etc has increased debt by £900. So two steps forward, one step back job..but last night with new circulation pillows, they made a heck of a difference, even on the other matress and we got them bargained down..so still a little bit money saving. I am really looking forward to it coming as i tested it and was so relaxed i nearly fell asleep..

On other news, have over £80 tracking in Quidco, and today was a bargainous day..I was doing my shop through the supermarket site, and i decided to have a delivery rather than print off and go. Used as many discount codes as i could and got £7 off in the end with offers, when the chap delivered today he had forgotten my receipt, i said hubby needed the petrol voucher and he said he would come back later. Well the lovely man gave me three 5p off a litre vouchers for Tesco's..so shopping is £47 with codes and savers and three vouchers and one for wine! Tesco points have been credited for the £54 it was originally was..so am well chuffed with that service. Only problem is cupboards are literally bursting now, freezer is full of cheap and HM bread..so i probably won't have to shop for anything other than milk and salad stuff.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Forgot to add that the paid off amount includes Mr.B's stuff not all mine!

Sounds like you had a great weekend. The mattress and pillows are needed as was the other stuff so need to worry about it.
You have paid loads off your debt and have shopped around for all the stuff you bought so they must be bargains.
  • New bed sounds good Bob, I really wouldn't worry about spending on that, it should make such a difference. £11,000 paid off is fantastic! :T

  • Thanks, but i felt i could have done better and we have concentrated on some of the higher interest stuff of Mr .B's as well..but because most of mine is 0% a lot of it has sort of got shoved on the backburner..which is what the snowball calculator reccomends. I just felt like challenging myself to get rid of it and then chuck more at Mr.B's stuff..so we could both be debt free hopefully by this time next year..if we leave everything as is and just make payments then it will be in 2 and a half years.

Just had a thought. If i do the £10 a day challenge then that will be the extra i need to pay off things by Christmas that we have just bought. I think i will get back on Amazon and fleabay.

Bob sometimes we need to spend money - horrible as that is! you've not spend the money on pretty clothes but on something that may save a marriage and/or stop you ending up inside for murder.
My DFD is next year too...maybe we could have a challenge...

  • yep committing murder may well be about right..as i have been patient for about 6 years..although the last year i have moaned about it on here for England..apologies night owls and anyone who reads my sorry turnip strewn ramblings..lol.

I think i will join you in that challenge Skinty..looking at Sept 09..sounds scarey, but great at the same time.
