First of all I think you mean cheque not check.
To answer your question yes Barclays can arrange a bankers cheque/draft for you but expect to be charged around £20 for the pleasure.
Do you have a current account with Barclays as well as your saver?
If so transfer the money from the saver to current and issue a cheque at no cost to you.0 -
Sorry for my spelling, I am always being picked up on it.
With Barclay's I have a cheque account and a savings account and the information is very helpful. I have kept a low interest Building society account open just for writing cheque's that i can now close.
Thanks for your help.0 -
You could ask Barclays to transfer the money to your cheque book account. Then write a cheque from there.0

It's cheque, not check
It's banker's cheque, not bankers check
It's building societies, not building society's
It's Barclays, not Barclay's
And CAPITAL LETTERS at the beginning of sentences.
I know they don't reach financial education in school, but I thought they still did English!I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

Remember the guideline posted to the right of all forum pages:Pls be nice to all MoneySavers.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
trashcan: if you are an internet saver, isn't there an option to transfer funds instantly and for free between your current account and your savings account from your internet banking, and vice versa? If so, you can simply move the money yourself every time you want to write a cheque to someone that would otherwise make your current account overdrawn.I am a Chartered Financial Planner

I was always taught not to use AND at the beginning of a sentence!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

I missed lot of years at school from the age of 5 till i was 14 as i was born disabled and in hospital a lot. But one thing I learnt was manners. My spelling teacher might be good at spelling and grammar but very poor on manners. I know what i would rather have.
Thank you very much to the kind people who tried to help to answer my question.0 -
Points taken - I have a reputation for not stabbig people in the back, but stabbign them in the front! You might not be able to spell, I am unable to be diplomatic. But, if grammer and spelling is wrong, it can make it difficult to understand a question, even misunderstand a question to the point where wrong advice is given. Apologies if you've been offended - my comment was meant to be a little toungue in cheek, but as I've said, I have a disability that makes me unable to be diplomatic and unable to sense when I might be offending people.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

"I have a disability that makes me unable to be diplomatic" - I really doubt it's a disability...
OK, that's me done. No more spelling/grammar criticisms. You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0
