Cheapest iphone

Hello

I need to buy an iPhone - unfortunately not for myself, but it was organised as a competition at work but no one actually bought the prize before it was won and for some reason I'm having to organise it!!

It is only the phone that is the prize, not the contract, the winner will have to organise that seperately.

I know nothing about mobiles, especially iPhones - where is the best place to get it from?

Cheers

Thats a classic, have a competition and no prize. You can try carphonewarehouse or O2 shops (you will be lucky to find stock). Alternative is ebay.

You actually just pay for the phone and the contract part is not done till the person activates the phone using itunes. They could of cause you iliberty or a similar package to jailbreak and unlock the phone (no contratc needed then).

you cant really buy them any more, they ran out till next month when the 3g version ships.

frankly giving someone a minimum £630 (£35*18) contract bill unless they are able to hack it doesnt sound like much of a prize and there are better phones.

Maybe give the person who won the cash equivalent? I wouldn't want to win a prize that tied me into an expensive contract - and it's pretty wide knowledge that they are not restocking until the Apple announcement (probably of a next version) at the beginning of June.
  • Carphonewarehouse are out of stock completely

    11th July new one arrives
Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?

Blimey! I wouldn't want to be the winner of that competition - to use the thing you have to sign up to a very costly contract.
Maybe think about getting one of the Chinese iPhone 'clones' - like the P168+. A friend of mine has one of these and its not bad at all. Its not as good as an iPhone, but it looks like one and does most of what an iPhone does. Do a search of "P168+" on ebay, you can get them for about £70 I think.

Well, we have no idea of how the competition was organised, promised prize, terms & conditions etc etc., so a bit premature to go off on one about criminal offences and fraud. Don't call in the Sweeney just yet.

New iphone PAYG won't be cheap. I was in Germany this week and pricing had just been announced there at 499 Euro for the 8GB model on PAYG. That's around the £400 level. Can't see it being any cheaper here.

Not at all, rumour has it that we will be selling it for as little as £160 for the 8GB model ith 6 months free wifi and data, then £10 a month for the data thereafter

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.
