I have 131 listed, but a lot of those are unrecorded inquiries, quotation searches (cheers, MoneySupermarket, you pricks) and me searching my own report obsessively. Naturally...

Well, I got my application form through to sign... and it came with a credit card agreement attached, also to be signed and returned. Not bad going... ;)

Just called up them up to ask about the agreement, and the CC limit they're prepared to agree prompted another one of the "Christ, wasn't expecting that" moments of the thread title - £1,800 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Christ, 6 months ago I was using Vanquis...

Just their plain credit card, but I'm not bothered... I'll probably never use the thing TBH, altho it's 2.9% for 6 months which is quite good.

O/D limit is £500, but they said if I wanted it could be increased to £800... £100 cheque guarantee card too.

I remember ages ago saying HSBC were either trusting, naive, stupid or some combination of the above. Well, FD appear to have that mantra coded into their credit scoring system...

I am sure you are aware, but just in case, there is no interest on the current account. I just move my salary into the related savings account and then move it back as and when needed. As long as I don't end the day in debit then I am fine. So as long as any spend during the day doesn't go over my overdraft limit, I just move the relevant amount when I can get onto the internet or give them a ring.

If you have a credit card with them, you can pay it off on the due date by just transferring the money on that day. I don't like doing that so transfer a day or so earlier than the due date.

Alternatively just set up a direct debit for the full/minimum amount each month to come from your current account to the credit card and you don't need to then remember to make the transfer. I did manual payments to my CC's for years, but then took the plunge with DD and have never looked back!
