Freecycle, google it if you don't know what it is.
Otherwise look out for a horse and follow it home

Hi, Laura. I posted on freecycle (Bolton area) and got a huge response. No-one had any, but they gave me a lot of information about local riding stables etc. I followed them up and got my supply - so it's worth a try.

The other place to look is Ebay - for collection only, of course! I got some lovely stuff from the Rochdale area - all bagged up and ready to go - through Ebay.

I also made a small donation towards a local donkey sanctuary in return for a couple of bags - a good cause and I didn't have to travel far. The people of Stockport raise a heck of a lot of money for the Donkey Sanctuary near Buxton. That might be another source!

    Good luck.

Last weekend i went to a local riding school that had a trailer full of horse manure in their front drive. I asked the owner if we could have some and he said if there is some in the trailer just come in and take it. I live about 12 miles from Stockport so if your still looking PM me.

  • Does anybody know of anywhere in the Oxford or Wallingford area that has well rotted horse manure spare?

    Local riding school,

Yeah, there's a stable on the other side of Richmond Park near where I live and I notice plenty around alright. I wouldn't expect you to go as far as Richmond upon Thames just for horse manure though but would definitely consider kazwookie's recommendation. They'll most likely be glad to give it away.
