Creative V+ 8GB MP3/4 player £49.99

What's the deal?

Argos is selling an 8GB MP3/MP4 player with good features and reviews for £49.99. They're going quickly, so get there fast if you want one.

How to get one.

Just click the link below to go to the Argos product page. It's no longer available for home delivery, but you can reserve and collect in store (use Argos' system to check local availability).

What do you get for this?
Even though the Argos site says this is just a "Zen V", it is actually the "Zen V plus" version (as the Zen V doesn't come in 8Gb).

This means you get 8GB storage (around 2,000 songs), as well as a built-in FM Radio with 32 presets, and video playback capability (that's what the mp4 bit means).
Other features include a high res 1.5" OLED screen, quick USB 2.0 transfers, built in mic, and perhaps the best feature, the ability to record audio directly to WMA (Windows Media Audio) through a headphone jack line-in socket. It's pretty unobtrusive given its teeny size and weight of just 43.5 grams, and the sound quality isn't bad either.
Thanks to Parahandy for originally posting this deal!

I've just had a look at this on the Argos website, and it is excluded from their 30 day money back guarantee.
What protection would I have if it broke - as I've had a Creative Zen in the past whose headphone socket broke!

    Cheers

I have the 2 gig (green) version myself and was recently trying to buy the 4gb in a shop for £80 but they were out of stock.

I reserved this one as soon as I read Martin's mail. :money:

Just to point out the Argos webpage says it's USB1.1 but the Creative website says that both the Zen V and Zen V Plus are USB2.0.
  • Thank you for posting this one. I've reserved mine, as it seems too good to miss!:D Does anyone know if the playback quality from recording through the mic is any good? I want to tape a chat I plan to have, with an elderly lady, to aid some geneology research.
  • Thank you for this-I pick it up tomorrow-and it has a 30 day returns on it!

I had one of the previous Zen Sleek Photos when Argos were selling them and I was very impressed with the Zen quality and the way it worked.
This looks like a great deal. It won't hold your entire music collection but 8GB can still store a lot of albums.

Does anyone know how easy the Creative Zen is to use? I'm not very good with downloading and managing things like this and need something very very simple! :o I've had an ipod shuffle for a couple of months and find it impossible to sort out! It constantly tells me it can't synch, I can't work out how to create playlists etc etc. However, my two sons have Sony MP3 players and say 'even you could manage one Mum!' as apparently you simply 'drag and drop' files onto them. Do Creative Zen work like that too?

I bought one of these today and thus far it seems great. It's on charge right now, but i havent had any problems yet.

As for the file management - no it isnt drag and drop, it is run through a programme they have... i'll try to remember to report back tomorrow on how that works... if no one else gets here in the meantime! lol
    On the up :D
