Tuesday 27/05/2008. What small DFW things will you do today????

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Mornng everyone and hello to any new posters!

Well i have a week off seeing as its half term, but probably going to have more of a relaxed day today.

-Will look for mystery shops - Picked up two more already!

-Will fill out enrolment form for college course
-Will look for more courses that will complement my counselling diploma - I have gone and done it!:T I have managed to get on a course which is one of the pre requirements to getting on my diploma course. I also phoned up the tutor of the diploma course and she says despite my current certificate being a few years old, that is no problem and is still recongnised. I am on cloud nine:j
-Will check emails
-Wil do any surveys i recieve

-I'll try and place a matched bet
-I'll send id proof to one bookie so that i can take advantage of their free bet
-Will sort out paper work and try and file it away
-Will work on brochures and leaflets
-Will go on website for business advice
-Will email woman about a job
-Will look for a new job
-Will read some of my book
-Will pay credit card bill - Not going to pay it now as need the money to pay for my counselling course.
-Will look on this site for helpful tips
-Store cupboard meals today
-Will try and keep heating and water off for as long as possible
-Also do boring household jobs and tidy bedroom
-Do my daily clicks as i haven't done them in ages
-Will check online banking

Hi - am new to this site but thought I'd join in!

Me and the boy filled in Martyn's budget planner last night so we'll be working on that more today.

    Steps today:

Go to Barclays to establish what a debt collection letter is referring to???! (Thought everything with them was cleared)

Checked online banking - everything in order, even if I do only have 77p in my current account!

    List some clothes on Ebay

I recently switched to the O2 Simplicity tariff and have just found out that my bill has been reduced by £30 this month! I can manage without a new handset!

    :T everyone! x

I am having an NSD again as I have to wait in for the plumber, this also means that I won't be in work but I'll get paid anyway so will spend the time being an old style domestic goddess!
I am going to call Halifax and Mint and cancel the unused credit cards that I have with them.
I will check Quidco and do any new surveys.

Yes, sorry Klane:o. No rest for the wicked today, my boyfriend would not let me sleep in so decided to get cracking with the day. Have to admit, it will be nice when Sophiesmum is back to resume her role, so i don't have to worry so much about the thread getting posted! You don't realise how much someone does until their gone:D

Am quite chuffed though this morning as the two people i put down as references for my diploma course have happily agreed to do it.

Hi Lilian1977, glad to see you on here and look forward to more posts from you.

Thanks Andan! Can you possibly direct me to the list of things people are doing in the £10 a day club? I've found threads but all I can find is people agreeing to take part, rather than what they're actually doing :)

The ideas are normally spread out far and wide within the challenge! I did notice one link they had in there.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=392022

Also check out the up your income board for ideas such as mystery shopping, online surveys, ironing businesses, daily clicks. Also worth remembering is that they do free bingo at gala on a Thurday, someone on here won £450 for nothing the other day.

Hope some of these ideas help, but if you read through the last few pages of some of the challenges they should have ideas on there.

Is that online or at a local club?
