We have 2 of the sender/receiver thingies, which we bought from Lidl for about £20, and these worked fine to send Sky signal to both upstairs bedrooms, and the sky remote does work upstairs.

We tried the same thing with the Cable service, and although we can get it to receive the signal, we can't get the remote to work upstairs, but it's not too much of a problem for us as usually watch the cable downstairs and the Sky (is on freeview channels only) upstairs.

Bear in mind, however, that you cannot also have the normal channels through an aerial, that has to be disconnected. I put a splitter in originally to give some versatility, but it wouldn't work

very possible to get this to work... you just need to make so the run of Co-ax between the magic eye and the sky box is direct and not via the splitter... I have exactly this set up.

Great fun winding the missus up by pausing what she's watchin in the kitchen if i'm bored ..simple things an all that :rotfl:
  • Depending on your sky box, you may not need to buy additional box. My sky box has plugs on rear to run 2 cables off to another room.I currently have cable runing to sky box from dish and a cable running from the rear of box to upstairs bedroom.

Gives me sky to bedroom although if anyone changes sky channel downsairs, channel natuaratly changes in bedroom.

    Hi

used to be able to get sky in the bedroom feeding from the Sky+ box and through an ordinary co-ax. Recently made the connection through a socket on the wall, using the same co-ax and via cable from the Sky box to the socket. Now all I get upstairs is a snowy screen with intermittent sound.

    Anyone able to help please?

    Thanx
