I am afraid you are not alone! Pipex still owe us more than £100 which they took by direct debit when THEY insisted that the only way to sort out another problem was to set up a new account. So in short, charged me a cancellation fee for cancelling the previous account in order to provide me with the service I was paying for!! If I hadn't of still been in contract at the time I would have just cancelled!

A dozen phone calls later and I have given up - they always say the money will be with me in 2 weeks, aparently it is with the "finance dept" again at the moment!

Today I have contacted the bank to raise an indemnity claim for the debit. We will be moving house in a few weeks (technically we are out of contract now with Pipex - hence the phone calls to try to get me to change the service we have to get us back into a contract again!) and fully intend to cancel the Pipex account and setup at the new house with a different provider.

All I can really say is Good Luck! But in a twisted way, it does feel better to know you are not alone lol!

Back in early September I wrote to

Chief Executive PIPEX Communications UK Ltd PO Box 14506 Birmingham B46 9BG detailing my complaints - nothing back. No courtesy of a reply. I have again been told on the phone that the outstanding amount has been credited to my account NOT what I wanted considering the fact that they have had the money, I wanted the money back in my bank account, not credited to my pipex account, but I can see no trace of it as a credit on my account.

I am incandescent with rage actually. However no debit was made to my credit card for September so hopefully there is a credit on my account. But another issue is the fact that they charged me an additional £1 because it is a credit card and not a debit card BUT THEY HAVE HAD MY MONEY SINCE MAY.

I can't believe this company. Next time I will go with good old BT.
