Euro1Net??

Does anybody know anything about Euro1Net?? They're doing basically the same offer e7 had before - 512 doubled to 1mb for £10 a month (sign up for 1 or 2 years) with free connection for 2 years and a free modem..

They might even be the same company as both are based in kent.. but I don't know. not seen many comments about Euro1Net but the offer looks good.. it beats e7's current offer at the moment for 1mb (as we can't get 2mb..)

So yeah. Does anybody use them? What is service like?

I've never heard of this company. I had a quick look around and found someone else asking the same question as you on another forum. This is the answer they got (recently ...Sep 6th).

Euro1net are a relatively new company, having been trading for just 2 years now - also quite a small one so it would seem. Existing customers seem satisfied overall, although I have read about a few performance issues here and there, which appear to be being rectified. Hard to be sure - a small company can offer a good personal service - but who knows what might happen should a small firm grow rapidly.

The offer that is currently being advertised has a few catches that you should be aware of:

    1. In order to get the free connection, you need to sign up for 2 years, and pay up front (£240), which is in my opinion a big commitment since they have only been around for 2 years, and it is a real struggle for small ISPs to compete with the big ones, many of them don't last very long. On their website, the comfort that they offer is the suggestion that you purchase with a credit card that offers you purchase protection, so that if they go bust you may be able to claim via your credit card.

    2. Their technical support line costs a whopping £1 per minute. Of course the email support is free - but not much help if you are having trouble connecting to the internet in the first place.

I have every sympathy for smaller ISPs trying to make their stand against the all mighty BT, but think that the 2 year contract is a bit of a gamble, especially since you will have to pay a reconnection charge if you move house (£69) - which is not the case with some of the larger suppliers, such as BT and Virgin. Also, take into consideration that all ISPs are getting cheaper and faster, so it may be that 12 months down the line, a 1MB connection may seem really slow and you will likely be able to find something faster for the same money.

It is hard to find any info about euro1net because they changed their name from adsbroadband - not sure when exactly, but I think it was early this year.

They are closely connected to e7even, they were using the same registered address at one point, and if it's not the same company then I would guess they are reselling e7even services.

Would recommend using a credit card for euro1net or e7even.

I'm on e7even and the email support is really excellent, I have had no need to call the premium rate number. Some new subscribers have the 0800 telephone support for the first month for £5, a family member has just migrated to e7even and was offered (and took up) 0800 telephone support for 12 months for an extra £25, which didn't seem too bad. Don't forget that for problems with your broadband connection (not equipment/software problems) you can just ring the usual 0870 customer services number.

I would recommend e7even from my experience of them... :D
  • I joined Euro1net in July of this year, paying for one year up-front plus a connection fee of £50.

Two days following my migration my connection speed was upgraded to 1mb.

Todate I have no problems with Euro1net, connections and speeds have been excellent.

I would suggest anyone looking to migrate to another ISP should take a look at the forums....

I researched for many days on the bbs.adslguide.org.uk website before deciding on this company.

Please go to the following link to see what the forum members have been saying about the company. I was quite impressed. the general impression is very good.

  • Their "fair usage" policy is what is putting me off.

    Read this: http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=euro1net&Number=2054607&page=1&view=expanded&sb=5&o=0&fpart=

Cut off for 4.5GB/month - forget it!
There are other example on that forum.

I use at least 40GB and frequently d/l for days at a time, I'm staying with F2S.

    This reads very well:

and their current offer at £10/mt equivalent reads even better! I'm about to sign up!

    TT
  • Don't sign up to this company as they owe money to BT. BT have cut them off. A check of the Whois shows the domain registered to an address at 78 Queen Street, Ramsgate. I know where this is as it is just round the coast from me im Margate and it's not exactly Telecom Industries central! This comes up as Ramsgate Mobile Phone Shop, http://www.accessplace.com/default_new.php. See the story here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/22/euro1net_disconnected/
