Is this a new build?
Do you have a short to chassis via one of the many brass spacer's located under the motherboard? ie have you fitted a spacer where one is not supposed to go?
Sounds like the power supply is shutting down due to an over current fault.0 -
Hi. Well you've managed to frighten me out of messing with the BIOS;) . Seriously though the PSU is worth trying. It could explain why the failure was spread out over time & it, the case & the mobo are the only items that werent brand new. Worst thing... you're right this board doesnt have anything like a standard plug unfortunatley. I am intrigued by a potential overcurrent fault because thats what is happening..the PSU is shutting down. Also it could explain why I can retreive the power led after it fails to boot. Could be CPU/PSU issues. What do you think? Is there anything else that might cause this over current fault? I might try another CPU. I dont want to have to buy a new PSU (at least not until I haveto) because this is one part thats not really transferrable given the mobo. Many thanks for your time & input...I am much impressed by your patience too, kind regards Harry0
