I dont think there is anyone in denial that prices are dropping.

    Dude, you're really embarrassing yourself.

You start by insisting only the LR data is worth reading.

Then when someone points out the LR data suggests big falls in your area, you turn to the Nationwide instead.

Step away from the computer now. It's getting silly.

Sometimes its just all about luck/fate.

More luck, fate and crystal balls? If you're smart and ambitious and determined and know how to offer products or services people want, you can still be in a good position leaving without a degree or the like.

Loads of people have become millionaires without any real qualifications in previous generations, forming solid businesses.

I put this partly down to being refused loans and credit from the banks (not past 6 years obviously), thus having to really care about cashflow, insisting on getting payment upfront or on delivery (no 30 days and more) but allowing customer to have a discount, shaking and moving, but also having no banks on their backs servicing debt but making their own way independently

Complete moron. At least get your facts right:rolleyes:

I have never once stated that house prices are not falling. Where??

LR data suggests big falls in my area? No it didn't, again show me where?

The bbc link and the nationwide link showed more or less the same thing. Prices are still 13+% YOY. Yes both have dropped quarterly but both show +YOY

    Imbecile:rolleyes:

(At least get your story correct)

Tell you what to make it a bit simpler for you as you're obviously needing all the help you can

    BBC.....Aberdeen (+13%)

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/in_depth/uk_house_prices/html/qa.stm

    BBC.....Aberdeenshire (+15.8%)

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/in_depth/uk_house_prices/html/qb.stm

    Now lets go to nationwide

    http://www.nationwide.co.uk/hpi/historical/q1_2008.pdf

    (page 7)

    Aberdeen (+13%)
    Aberdeenshire (+18%)

So pretty much the same data then.

    Seriously, it beggars belief:rolleyes:

Sorry just woken up after night shift, so a little asleep still. Um am I right in thinking this person still thinks house prices are rising year on year:question:
    Deluded

Why his he continuing to quote land registry figures? The latest figures are effectively a snap shot of the past 6 months ago. They do not reflect what is happen now, for those details you will have to wait October 08.

I'm sure everyone has mentioned him how the land registry figures are highly manipulated and over valued by builders ramping up all prices.

Prices are collapsing, just wait for the Nationwide and Halifax figures in the next few days if you don't believe me. They are likely to show another huge drop.

Actually looking further at the data..

    http://www.nationwide.co.uk/hpi/historical/q1_2008.pdf

I have no idea how they've managed to report YOY negatives when you look at all the individual areas as the majority look like they all have +YOY %'s

... No wonder the price of oil has shot through the roof, the wage bill for the companies must be sky high.
You are confusing cause and effect. So much for grasp of economics, you are too busy looking at other folks posting stats.
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

Perhaps you should get back to your bed then.

No, i said my area still showed significant YOY rises, not that they were still continuing to rise.

The 2 are completely and totally different.

I have not for 1 minute said that property is continuing to rise. I bought 10 mths ago and have seen a significant increase, that's all i need to know :D

Increases in salaries dont have an effect on the price of a barrel of oil then?

Signing off for the evening (Some of us do have a life)

Awaiting the 100 page discussion in the morning telling me black is white.

(BTW...I do believe nationwide and halifax will show the exact same as to what hometrack has published, but it doesnt mean that we are all in YOY negative like many people on here would like to believe)

No doubt that will get twisted too, to make it look like i've said houses are continuing to rise:rolleyes:

    Evening folks:D
