If the course is oversubscribed, then yes it could be dangerous.
But if you decide before results day then you may be able to swap them over. You'd need to phone both unis and ask, and then phone UCAS to finalise thingsMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

I did this last year i swapped to my insurance on results day it can be done however extremely stressful took a couple of days to complete and feel in limbo you have to be released from your firm before the insurance will do anything at all as it is seen as poaching the other uni students so would think about it carefully.Slimming world Journey 2 stone 9.5lb loss:T0

Just decide which course is right for you (of the two asking the same grades) and firmly accept that one. Then consider whether you expect to get those grades, and if not, what you would do. At that point it makes sense to choose an insurance offer (although you hope you will not need to use it) or plan to re-take to improve your grades.0

problem for me was that all my offers required the same grades! I need to pass my access course to get on. I think i will still with Portsmouth.. Sussex is better but I feel that Portsmouth will give me the challenge I am after.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

Just be careful to doublecheck your choices. Glasgow uni rejected me from Course A and put gave me unconditional offer for Course B without telling me! Cheeky! I know they are quite dodgy coz my mate phoned them up asking he should apply to them as he has 4As and 1C for his higher and they said don't even bother!0

To be honest, if it comes down to it, i'd advise phoning the uni you want to go to before phoning your preferred choice and asking to be removed from the course. As for being released into clearing etc. that's probably how it should be done but I'd expect there's a good chance of your insurance jsut accepting you when you phone them. That's basically what happened with me 4 years ago, in fact UCAS were very much not in the loop.Bought, not Brought0
