Hi,
I have put in my choices for ucas and both my prefered and my insurance require the same grades, If I get the grades can I decide to go with my insurance or do I have to stick with my prefered?
Many thanks

You have to go to preferred.0

You are expected to go to your preferred but students have been known to beg, a) to be accepted at their insurance, and b) to be released from their preferred.
It's a bit of a dangerous game but it does go on, even though unis aren't keen on you doing it!somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
Forgot to say I was talking about after A level results. You can change your mind at this stage with no problems.
My advice would be to make sure you have seen the unis you are choosing (open days, perhaps more than once) as three years is a long time to spend somewhere you don't like, or on the wrong course.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
I didn't think you could change once you have confirmed your preferred and insurance?
I know you couldn't 2 years ago when I did it.0 -
it's frowned upon but you usually can0

It would be very difficult to force someone to attend a university, so although the acceptance is legally binding (in theory) most unis grudingly agree to this.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

it is frowned upon but you can go with your preferred, they cant force you to go to one you dont want to!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

If you change your mind when you get your results, then you would need to phone your firm (preferred) choice and ask them to release you. This would release you into Clearing, so you'd then need to phone your insurance choice and see if they would accept you. Your firm doesn't have to release you, and then your insurance doesn't have to accept you.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Sounds like a very dangerous thing to do then.
The course is right and amazingly over subscribed. I am pretty sure that I want my preferred.. But my insurance has a much better reputation ( kinds like Oxbridge) But me being a normal common lass decided to go for the less good uin.
Becasue of this every so often I have pangs, questioning my choice.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
The idea behind insurance is just that....that you choose.a uni that requires lower grades than your preferred choice. If you get the grades you are required to stick with it,unless you can get their agreement to change.0
