Have you thought about making it yourself? Get loads of friends to help you, could be a giggle. Plus would be super cheap, and probably not that hard :)

    Hi there
We had this for our wedding and it looked really nice. Ours cost £180 and we had 70 cupcakes of 3 different sizes and a top cake for cutting. Each cake was decorated with either a sugar rose or butterfly and we had butterflies 'flying' from the top cake. We had them arranged on a perspex stand. For a tradiciotnal 3 tier cake we'd been quoted about £100 more so it worked out well for us.

We got ours from a cake maker in Yorkshire. Let me know if their details would be any good to you. If not, just find a local cake maker and tell them what you want. I got the idea from a cake made by a london company 'cherryonthetop' and just took a picture along to the consultation.

By all means have a go yourself if you're that way inclined, however, I knew that wasn't an option for me as 'm rubbish at baking and really didnt need any extra stress in the run up and on the day.

Good luck. Oh, let me know if you'd like a piccy.

We had one for our wedding which I made, I bought the top tier (fruit) pre iced and sugar roses from Jane Asher then I just made the cup-cakes used royal icing and decorated them with the roses; I had chocolate, sponge and coffee cakes and the flowers were different colours depending on what flavour the cake was. It was very easy to do and looked really good; also a lot cheaper than buying one pre-done.

I found googling cup-cake wedding cakes for images a really good source of inspiration.

we went to a wedding where the bride & groom had one of these and it was so different!

What I thought was a nice touch as well was the fact that they then personally handed out the individual cup cakes.

If I did have one criticism though it was the cakes were chocolately and whilst the first couple of mouthfuls were nice, it did become a tad sickly towards the end.

This place is in Thornton Hough, not sure if they do cupcakes but their occasion cakes are some of the best I have seen so it might be worth contacting them to ask if they do the.

Why not do the cake yourself. M&s and other shops stock the standard iced cake .
We did this ourselves for our wedding and did a 2 tier cake from m&s .
With the big one if you are having one , all you need to do is some ribbon flowers along the side and a decoration on top. Buy the cup cakes ready made and ice the top if necessary and add the decoration.
Wish i could upload photos to show how good your own one can look and how easy it is , mabye stop people having to pay stupid prices from the cake people.
