My desktop PC has been completely killed with several Trojans, hardcore !!!!!! installations and malicious spyware.

We bought a new laptop tonight and I do not even want to start comping on this in case the same thing happens :mad:

How do you protect yourselves... has this happened to anyone else?

I am muchly impressed with my laptop anyways.. it has in built webcam, a place I can put my xd card for automatic copying of my pictures and a remote control bit.. plus fingerprint touch things.. only problem is .. I am a Vista virgin

I will probably win one now after buying this :eek:

I did a scan on my lappy and found tons of tracking cookies:eek: ..
My Antivirus cant keep up with them as soon as it takes them off
they are coming back as the amount of comps i do is huge.
Hubby going to format it over wknd..
Its the price we pay for the nice prezzies we receive :rolleyes:

Hi all those with Techie problems. I use AVG Antivirus (free & I think mentioned in one of Martin's money tips) & Spybot search & destroy, which keeps things nice & clean on my PC & the kiddies ones.

If your having major problems pop over to the techie board & ask for help, they seem to be quite a friendly bunch although I haven't posted in there myself.

Also... just remembered if your kids are using a PC have a Google for Naomi parental control, also free which closes the browser immediately if something possibly dodgy comes along. If your kids use your PC there is a facility to switch Naomi on & off so you can enter those saucy comps Wokkies keeps posting

I'm having a similar problem to elsien. I won an ipod with funkyfogey, they phoned to tell me on May 19th, 10 and a half weeks ago, which I still haven't received. I sent a few emails which they haven't ever replied to. I phoned them once and they said they had it there and it was just a case of them sending it out. Phoned again 2 weeks ago and still didn't have it and they said i was wrongly informed, they don't have it but are waiting on it from the supplier.
Any suggestion what I should do next and how much longer I should wait?

Get onto Edwin Mutton, these people really shouldn't be dragging their feet, I believe 28 days is long enough to wait. Unless they keep in touch with you to say their is delay, its their fault and should be told so by someone in "authority" if they can't supply the prize they shouldn't really run the comp

I saw this post after Googling Express Comps as I am having the same trouble with Express for a TV they owe me from winning on 19th April. I also e-mailed and rang the same person you did and included the editor I think Velvet mentions, and today got a response.
The Editor copied me in on a e-mail he sent to her (who shall remain nameless) saying help me out
The letter originator (you know who) then e-mailed me with apologies that I have had to wait so long, she had been on holiday (where Alaska for 6 months:rolleyes:) and my TV will be with me next week! OOh I'll wait in all week just in case :rolleyes:
So keep pestering it does work. Mind you I was sending emails every 48 hours with a promise of more to follow:rotfl:
