RuthMarianna wrote: »Just thought I should warn all you compers about this scam Email I received as you may think you have won a prize, open the attachment and get a virus on your computer.
This Email claimed to be from UPS about a parcel they could not deliver. They asked me fill an attached form. I fortunately did not open the attachment as the whole thing looked dodgy. I also tried to put the tracking number in on the UPS website and of course it was not recognised. So I rang UPS and they are aware of the problem and are investigating it. She told me that had I opened the attachment I would have caught a computer virus. So if you get anything like this be careful and check any tracking number on UPS website first.
This is the email my mum replied to! She replied with her name and address because ( rather luckily!) her anti virus wouldn’t let her open the attachment. She did it in a moment of distraction so didn‘t register the fact that it was dodgy.
I panicked when she told me because I know that some of theses types of scams try to get your details for sinister purposes, don’t they? But since the point of this particular piece of spam mail is to get you to open the virus attachment do you think she will be okay?
I could have crowned her when she told me what she’d done because I’ve told her about these scams before! :rolleyes:0 -
The Sun website is the worst website in the world.
To login or check you are logged in:
- Click My Sun in top menu
- Then click My Profile in top menu
If you only get a blank screen now (probably in Firefox), scroll down the page and you will find very badly positioned username and password fields.
Hope that helps someone. :T0 -

It's such a stupid newspaper! Well, it's a comic rather than a newspaper, I should say.
Doesn't stop me entering their comps however. Many tx to all who post constructively in all the forums!:beer:0 -
think I've missed something, if I post a comp for cinema tickets do I post as normal in the main board or do I have to post in the sticky in the regluars board??
No idea - what if its not a regular comp, just a one off?? I don't really check the regulars thread often!
edit: just had a look at the thread, looks like you should put them there?! Although I can predict a lot will be missed as its not easy to see expiry dates etc (don't know why these were put seperately as surely they are still off comps with different expiry dates and questions to answer etc?!?)Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

Just now the Sun seems to have gone particularly stupid with FF (I'm using FF3). Probably everyone knows about this ... but if you don't ... you can download an IE tab add on for Firefox. A little button comes up in the bottom right hand corner of the browser which allows you to switch between IE & Firefox rendering and you can add sites to a list which is ALWAYS rendered in IE (so the Sun and the Times for instance).
I find it really useful as it means you don't have to open up another browser just for some sites. The plug in (from the Mozilla add ons site - so it's safe) is here.latest win: LOTR: Moria - thanks to catz
- I'm moving to Australia in April - will the competitions be any good there?!:rotfl:

I think the "Telegraph" website takes some beating. If you log in you can't log out, then the next person sees all your details.
I found the only way to log out was to say I wasn't me, then it gives you the chance to log out. Stupid!
I know that MSE compers have emailed them and I've 'phoned, to no avail.
They really should get their act together.0
