Its taken me eons to get through them his morning! They just don't stop growing!!! (However - was glad to delete Osiris Shoe Comp from my bookmarks):D

and if I dont see them posted here I wont feel like I have missed out on anything

Did you use the board before the lists were a permanent feature?

I've not used these parts for very long, I never used to look beyond the DFW part of the forum.... I imgaine that the lists were a permanent fixture when I started using the competitions forum, however, I never used to use them when I first started out, i'd not even noticed the threads! Its made life a little easier since I found them, which started off when I was looking for competitions to win Global Gathering tickets....

If they went, i'd be disappointed because I like them, however, I'd just go back to my old way of entering competitions and that would be that.

I can't help but feel that what it boils down to is the fact that now more people are entering competitions, and thus reducing the chances of others, I saw it mentioned a few pages back, someone moaning about how many 'thanks' there were on a certain comp and not that many people ever used to enter etc.... It shouldn't be restrictive, if someone just wants to enter comps and not chat about them (i.e lurk), then why should they be made to feel inferior and be slagged off for not doing their bit?

I get loads of emails every day about new comps, and the first thing i do is check the URLs and key words on the search here to check if they have been posted, and they always have been so I have not been able to contribute that way. I have posted a few answers where they haven't been posted before etc, but I imagine that to lots of people it looks like I just take take take and not give same as many other members, but what it boils down to in most cases is that people are just quicker than others in getting them up and I don't wanna be posting duplicates just to prove I am looking only for someone else to waste their time merging them.

So you admit you wouldn't mind going back to comping the old way if the lists did go ( and they have been around for as long as you have been a member of MSE )


So another question is if you don't mind


Whats the difference between going through the comps ending list and selecting the comps you wish to enter and lets say searching comps you would like to win prizes for via a keyword (as the new ones would always be at the top of the search results) and entering those for the same amount of time a day if you have limited time use of the board?


I am very busy on here posting, chatting and moderating, so I easily could be a perfect candidate for using the ending thread, but I don't and still manage to keep up with what I want to enter.... hell yeah I miss some, but its not the end of the world. When I am back from my weekends off, I always make sure I enter a certain amount of comps without trawling through pages and pages (ie goodtoknow, nowmagazine etc) by doing a url search. Or at most I go back maybe 5 pages or so, which for me is 200 comps
