fd mini cash is now closed, i think happened on monday 24 october, or before.
hfax mini cash is open, with my first deposit of £250 only.
the money transferred from fd is somewhere in between .....
money is now resident in the halifax mini cash account.
i had to phone them up to get it sorted, the customer services chap said they've been unindated with mini cash tfers (no surprises there!)
so my FD mini cash is now fully transferred.
the £250 i'd deposited before the transfer was complete got shifted out by halifax into a receivables account, because i'd inadvertently deposited before the transfer was complete, so according to them transgressed the "thou shalt only deposit into one mini cash isa account at a time" rule. now waiting for that £250 to be transferred back again. i think i might need to make another phone call.
so fd -> halifax transfer completed (almost!) 7 weeks after initial request.0 -
come someone shed some light on my questions please.
My deal has also run out with FD and only now ive bothered to transfer it.
If i transfer to halifax can i view my statement online, will i get them posted through the post.
What is the % interest on this halifax mini cash isa account?
Is it done automatically over the phone, what info will i need , just my FD details?
Thanks alot!

5.00% AER/gross p.a
...
Can view balance online (Don't know about paper statements. Why?)

Phone 08457 26 36 46, 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturday
Download an application form and you will see what details you need to apply. To thransfer ISA from FD you need:- FD address
- sort code
- account number
P.S. Just checked and I see that you can download not the application form now, but some leaflet instead.0 -
Dean - I recently transfered an existing isa to a Halifax Direct ISA without any problems. Once opened and running you are able to apply for online facility, I've just done that and waiting for username etc. through post after submitting details on their website. I would expect to be able to view statement online when it's up and running.
5% AER/gross.
I contacted Halifax by 'phone, it's on their website, and explained that I wanted to transfer an existing isa in it's entirety. Application sent by post, that plus identity and address proof have to be taken to a Halifax branch where the account will be opened.
Once Halifax account details are known you will then need to contact FD to initiate the transfer by whatever method they execute it.
In my case there was a loss of 1 days interest during the transfer process.
I think grumbler and I posted at the same time.0 -

Due to exams (and laziness) I'm only just getting round to thinking about transfering from FD to halifax. I'm not too clued up on ISAs so would really appreciate some help!
Interest up to 17th Dec has been added to the FD account. How will this work when I transfer the ISA to halifax?.. will it leave the interest in the FD account, thereby leave me with 2 open mini cash ISA accounts... or does the interest move with the £3000 max balance.
thanks! :rudolf:Saving money is fun :A0 -
bluesnice,
Entire balance is transferred across and original account is closed.
Just got around to taking my proof of ID into branch (over a month after opening). Had a slight problem as I have no passport/driving license/firearms certificate etc and a laminated birth certificate is not considered proof of ID for people over 18 years old. Luckily, they did accept credit card (which are people more likly to obtain fraudulantly?)0 -
I've had my FD account transferred to Halifax for a couple of months now. I know I can open another ISA in April but what happens to this years one ?
Does it just carry on gaining the same interest ?0
