Thank you Stavros and marylee. I'll feel much calmer tomorrow, it was just a bit of a shock to log in and see the negative sitting there glowing at me.
I haven't left any feedback yet for the non buyer, nor have I replied to the neg he left me. I thought it best to sleep on it and word my response carefully tomorrow rather than rush in and maybe not use the chance to reply well enough.
Thank you again for your comments

Soo, what is your eBay ID?The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0
-
what about the names of people who's auctions you've reported? if it's not a coincidence then one of them may have created a new account under a false name
I kind of think it may have been something like that, although of course all reports are supposedly anonymous. However I did e mail a couple of fraudsters using a different ID and they have since been NARUd so maybe they linked my 2 id's. I've also blocked a couple of people from bidding as I'd noticed they had been bidding on items similair to mine and had caused problems, so maybe one of those took exception to having their main id blocked.
I'll never know the answer and really 1 neg on my otherwise perfect feedback isn't the end of the world. I would just love to know what RECE means though. Someone did suggest that the buyer started to try and spell a word out and realised he didn't know what to put and just clicked the enter button thinking he could go back and finish it later?
Anyway, it all looks better this morning. I even had a nice positive feedback left by a lovely seller so the negative has already moved one down the page.
Thanks again for everyone letting me waste bandwidth feeling sorry for myself. I really do appreciate this list and knowing I could come on and have a whinge knowing there are people who understand.

Just a thought - maybe the buyer was writing 'RECEived wrong goods' or something like that but pressed enter by accident?
Feedback is one area where eBay definitly messes up as I've been hit by idiots leaving bad feedback a few times now. Your best idea is to respond to the feedback and hope people don't look at it and worry.
Hope this helps!0 -
For the moment couldn't you do a follow up with a short simple "left by mistake lease ignore this" or something like that! the person cannot amend this so you wouldn't look bad, and because people can't understand what it says.
there is an ebay member with that name, does that mean anything?
I shall delete this link if it doesn't so it doesn't incriminate anyone!
The person in your link hasn't traded since 1999 and I can't see that I ever had any transactions in common with him. I don't think there is a connection at all.
I'm considering my response now. I am going to leave a neg for him as well even though I imagine his account was a throw away one. I am just going to say 'No payment rec'd FVF claimed' (or something like that if it fits)

I've never had a problem getting feedback removed, and it doesn't even require the acceptance of the other person in the transaction.
When contacting ebay, explain the situation fully (it sounds like the negative feedback given here is completely unjustified), point to your excellent feedback, say you've contacted the buyer / seller but they've been unreasonable .... it should work out okay!
I had a person in Cyprus who said their friend would pick up some records I was selling from my house. He would then send them onto his friend in Cyprus. I said 'no, but i'm willing to post it to Cyprus' (though it was a uk only auction). So the guy left negative feedback, I contacted him, then ebay, feedback removed, idiot banned!0 -
Hi Sarki,
Ebay have a very strict policy on feedback removal and my situation does not fall into any of the criteria.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/feedback-removal.html
In your case the buyer must have broken one of the rules for you to have had the feedback removed, my only hope is that my buyers email address turns out to be invalid as he never responded to me, but I haven't heard back from ebay yet and as the mail didn't bounce back I think I was just being ignored by buyer.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

maybe RECCE??? as in testing you out to see what you'd do?? who knows too many weirdos!!! :-*0

Maybe next time you will just get on with your own business, Its no big deal if someone sells outside ebay, as a seller with an excellent feedback record I have no problems with this, usually people are out there just trying to make a few extra quid to spend on their kids, you dont know what there situations are.I have recently reported a few dodgy auctions as mentioned in this group, and also reported a person offering to sell outside of ebay.
My feedback is high and perfect and a few weeks back someone registered and used BIN to buy one of my items and then never paid. Today I got a negative from him with the remark RECE. I have no idea what that means. My 100% perfect record is now spoilt.
I think my account may have been targetted for some reason as this buyer has no other transactions at all, he has never even bid on anything else. I'm probably just being overly sensitive but it does seem odd that I decide to report a few auctions for non compliance and I suddenly have this problem.
It's odd how much it hurts. Ebay is only such a tiny bit of my daily life and yet that negative is playing on my mind. All I can hope is that RECE means something rude as then there is the possibility that the neg can be removed.

I have also just had an item bought by BIN. Buyer registered on day of bid and has not contacted me. His phone number is not valid.
Was worried as soon as they bid and pulled his details.
Have asked e-bay to either pull his account or provide confirmed details.
Too early to report as a non-performing buyer.
But on the margins I have to opperate on it will just kill me if this sort of thing happens a lot.
Ebay as usual will send the huge e-mail that tells me nothing and does not resolve the problem....but here goes..........yet again!!!!!!!0
