I have recently reported a few dodgy auctions as mentioned in this group, and also reported a person offering to sell outside of ebay.
My feedback is high and perfect and a few weeks back someone registered and used BIN to buy one of my items and then never paid. Today I got a negative from him with the remark RECE. I have no idea what that means. My 100% perfect record is now spoilt.
I think my account may have been targetted for some reason as this buyer has no other transactions at all, he has never even bid on anything else. I'm probably just being overly sensitive but it does seem odd that I decide to report a few auctions for non compliance and I suddenly have this problem.
It's odd how much it hurts. Ebay is only such a tiny bit of my daily life and yet that negative is playing on my mind. All I can hope is that RECE means something rude as then there is the possibility that the neg can be removed.

I'm not sure I have any grounds for removal especially since I don't know what RECE means.I think I'm stuck with it unfortunately.

Rece is a name, another variation of Reece.0

But they can't leave neg in that situation surely??0

Any transaction that results in a sale is open to feedback. So despite the fact that this guy has never even attempted to pay he still has the option to leave feedback and there is nothing that I can do about it.
As for RECE, that is neither my name nor the buyers name so I am no nearer to understanding what it means.

Soo,
I've been watching this forum for a couple of weeks now and you seem to know you stuff on ebay... is there no way to get ebay to remove "unfair" feedback. Reading the link above it seems that you can contact ebay to get it removed and if the other person fails to respond to the accusation then they will remove it. Don't know if it's worth a try? :-/0 -
As for RECE, that is neither my name nor the buyers name so I am no nearer to understanding what it means.

what about the names of people who's auctions you've reported? if it's not a coincidence then one of them may have created a new account under a false name0 -
Feedback removal is almost impossible to achieve which is why we are all held hostage to poor buyers and sellers.
The only grounds for feedback removal is if that feedback is considered rcacist, defamatory, or libellous. As I don't know what RECE means I cannot honestly swear to ebay that it falls into any of thise categories.
Ebay could also remove the feedback if the buyer loses his account now for incorrect contact details. Again I have no reason to believe his contact details are incorrect. My mail to him although never answered, has never bounced back. The telephone number is also valid, so it doesn't look like i can get it removed for incorrect details either.
I still believe this was a deliberate attempt by someone to spoil my feedback. I have decided to stop putting up BIN items for a while in case it happens again as at least with proper auctions I have the chance to remove any bidders that look suspicious if someone tries it again.
My feedback is high enough that the negative only took me down to 99.9% but it is horrible knowing that I will never again be able to achieve a 100% positive feedback.

ebay fails again. why does it have to be the most popular?? 0 -
Soolin, I know it's annoying to get negative feedback. If I am not happy with a seller, I do not any neg, because I know it will be tit for tat. You should not really let it bother you. I still buy from sellers with less than 100% after having the neg ones. You can always add the response to his feedback.I have always find you very helpful and knowledgeable. Do not let this get to you.0
