    everyone should do it.....

rip up teh unwanted junk mail, stick it back in the envelope and send it back....
if it's pre-paid, the it'll cost them, if not, don;t stick a stamp on, and send it anyway - then it'll cost em even more!!!

if enuff people start to do this, then they might stop sending so much!

I think that this sort of gesture is pointless and environmentally unfriendly.

There is no way AT ALL that any company is going to stop sending out mailings, just because a tiny percentage of deranged people return the stuff to them.

It's a waste of their time and money to do this. It wastes resources through unnecessary transportation of the bumf back to them. And it won't do any good. So I suggest you reconsider.

We stick it in the recycling bin.

Hardly any junk mail contains anything other than your name and address. That information is freely available on the electoral roll or in the phone book and doesn't bother me.

The ink/paper/etc is wasted when it's sent to you - that's not undone by you wasting time and effort sending it back.

Mail marketing is a cost effective exercise for companies, and a few people aren't going to make it less so.

Register with the Mailing Preference Service, so after 28 days you'll start to get only mail thats related to any of the interests you stated when you register. Don't select any interests & you'll get even less!

In the meantime, stick it in the recycling.
  • i just stick it in the bin, fits nicely everytime

well it makes me feel better...... it costs them, and if they go bust, then it's one less lot of junk mail to worry about......
