Nokia N95 8Gb v HTC Tytyn ii
I'm due an upgrade from 3 and need a smartphone with a variety of internet-based features with wireless pretty much a must have. I have been offered the choice between a Nokia N95 8GB and an HTC Tytyn ii by Three - with a good package (because I've been with Three for years and have built up a decent loyalty bonus).
I was just wondering if anyone had some thoughts/experiences of these phones, particularly the HTC as there are quite a lot of views around about the Nokia - but I'm open to advice!
I am not in a massive rush - currently I have a Nokia e65 which I really like but think I would prefer a bigger screen area and am likely to be using more email on the move features over the next year (I also quite want an upgrade because my partner's phone is knackered and I want to give him my current one to use!).
Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts, I'd welcome them!
Thanks

I have the N95 8gig and it is awesome for viewing the net. Much smoother then the old N95 and biuld of phone is much better then the older one to. Cant comment on the other one but will say that the net is very quick on mine, and very very easy to use. I am a truck driver but I have a driving partner so when we swap I sit on the internet on my phone0

And I have a TyTN II, but mine is the Stellar on O2 (same device, looks different).
For email on the move it is really quite cool. It has stacks of storage space and can sync with a computer easily if you so choose. The addition of a "proper" keyboard is also quite useful when replying to them.
For Web, Internet Explorer is a bit pants so you'll probably want to get Opera Mini 4.1 (which is free) or Opera Mobile 9.5 (which is still in leaked-beta and will probably cost about £15) and the touch screen makes it nice to navigate.
It also has stacks of features which can easily be added to by (mostly free) software, is a fair media player (re-encoding videos would be advised) and can take SDHC cards (so 8Gb for £40-ish and 32Gb cards are coming soon), so it ends up being a cool device.
The only problem is the 3G. On three, they will be wanting you to stick to the 3G networks, but I have 3G disabled on my handset as it impacts battery life. I don't know how it effects the battery life of the N95 (disabling might make it more impressive), but I don't have one of them...

When are three launching the TyTNII as I cant see it on their website. I have just upgraded to a TyTNII on Orange after much research based on the following:
> touchscreen - for internet browsing.
> possible to edit MS Office documents.
> wide range of Windows Mobile software.0 -
They have it now.. I saw it in a shop and asked specifically about it when I called them. it's listed under their business packages but they seem to be happy to sell it on regular tariffs too (as I don't have a business contract!)0

Personally have Tytyn ii (aka Kaiser, v1615, o2 Stellar etc) on Vodafone (but unlocked). A good piece of kit, packed full of features including Tom Tom Satellite Navigation. It is over £400 off contract therefore would be interested to hear what price they are offering it for on personal contracts.
On Three website it is under business if you want to see it

Cheapest personal contract on 3 is £30 pm for the Tytn II...300 mins/texts. Although if you are upgrading, you can talk them into a deal for more mins normally.0

I've been offered it on my current contract (although I've been with 3 for ages so have loyalty bonus etc) which is £15 pm for 500 mins and 100 texts + £5 for internet etc. I don't really need more minutes or texts even but I'm a heavy data user!
And thanks to everyone for responding! Still not quite decided but erring towards the N95..0 -
I am at kind of the same place between in the tytyn and the n95. which one did you go for in the end?0
