The best advice i can give you is go to a good bike shop
Tell them what you're after then try a few to see which 'fit' you
Different manufacturers measure frame sizes differently
For example my Kona is 15.5 inches but by Specialised it would be 18 inches
Mongoose are a good make and have been around for a few years
    Other makes to consider
    Scott
    GT
    Claud Butler
    Secialised
    Marin
    Raleigh
Carrera (sold only by Halfords, but they have some great offers on ATM)

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. i think i have got down to 2 brands/4 models, but i will be getting more info tomorrow.

so if anyone can add any opinions based on my OP i would appreciate it.

    thanks again.
