Are there barriers at Sheffield Railway Station??

Hi all,

just wondering if theres any barriers at Sheffield Railway Station? reason why i ask is because i'll be travelling from meadowhall (?) to nottingham via sheffield on a saver return ticket and wish to leave the station on the outbound for a bit of pub whilst we wait for our connection. so yeah. breaking the saver return rules i know... but would rather not pay the meadowhall - sheffield as a separate ticket if possible! it's been a while since i was last at sheffield (couple of years ago) and back then, they didn't have any barriers. any ideas?

cheers

You should be allowed to leave the station while waiting for your connection.

if you want to save some pennies, get the bus from Meadowhall into sheffield, and have some beers around there until you have to wander down to the station...

no barrier abd you cann break your journey, as long as its not 'advance' and you miss the connection, also , there are no rules regarding breaking the journey on the ticket as long as you complete the trip on the same day

standard open return :RETURN PART :

break the journey on the return and you can use it the next day as long as its before midday
I have started entering competitions, lets see If I can win

But OP is not buying a standard open return, he's buying a saver which has a 'no break on outward journey' rule

And 'breaking the journey' includes leaving the railway station for any reason other than to walk to another railway station that is considered part of the journey.

However, if it is just whilst you are waiting for a connection, if there are barriers or staff checking tickets, asking nicely almost always delivers the required result.
