CheapER petrol - Asda
I filled up my car at Asda (Thurmaston, Leicestershire) last night and the unleaded was 89.9p per litre - the cheapest I've seen it in a long while! I assume that other Asda's have it at this or a similar price. The diesel was 92.9p per litre.
It seems that the price is coming down to pre hurricane levels.

hats off to asda for cutting prices by 4p a litre at all there forecourts, unlike tesco who only lowered prices at forecourts where there is any serious competition,my local tesco in redcar are selling at 92.9p after a measely 2p cut, this cut was only probably done because morrisons over road cut there prices by 2p a litre to 91.9p,so not everyones benefitting from low supermarket prices!(all prices refer to unleaded)0

I would point out that the wholesale price of oil has remained constant before, throughout and after the events in the US.

Think Asda are offering all stores price point of 89.9 - unloke Tescos & others, which rely on local market prices.
Lucky you, if you've a Shel site that price matches - then you can get Shell Bonuspoints, too!!

I dont doubt that at all, unfortunatley the price we pay hasnt reflected that. I had to fill up my oil tank the day after the price increase in anticipation of Hurricane Rita  Bad planning I know but we've only just moved into the house! They had me over a barrel...so to speak!!!0 -
Asda's press release on 16/09/05 said that they would publish the maximum fuel price they charge on their website, and challenges others to do the same. Does anyone know whereabout in Asda's website can you find this information?0

Asda prices have now gone up - I paid 91.9p on Monday. Still the cheapest by far in my area though!
