Problem with Orange...

I ordered a mobile via E2save on the Orange network back in December 2 days after getting the phone decided not to go ahead with the contract and spoke to E2save to cancel the contract which was not a problem as they gave me a ref number and said it would cancelled as soon as they received the phone back.

The phone was sent back that day in the condition I received it brand new as I had not even opened the box the phone came in.

Thur's 22/05 what drops on our front door mat a bill from Orange saying I owe them £64.00,so I promptly make contact with Orange and explained the situation to a very abrupt and condesending person who basicly told me because the line was not cancelled until the end of January that it is my responsibility and if I did not pay they would notify a debt collecting agency.

Being 5 months ago I now no longer have any doc's supporting my claim and to be honest Orange are not interested as all they want is the money.

Any advise would be most welcome.

    Hello

    I am EXTREAMLY OUTRAGED ,

I have been on a contract from orange for over 12 months. I wanted to cancel it but they told me that I am on a 24 month contract? They also said before, when I tried to cancel I was on an 18 month contract. Why are they telling me different dates?

They said I was dealt with a third party, when I was not, because the guy who rang me up in January 2007 claimed to be from Orange, as I told him directly I did not want to deal with third party contracts, only through the Orange company. I also got told that I was on a 12 month contract.
I keep getting high amounts of bills (£115 latest payment wanted) which I have not paid yet. I have not been using the contract for the last two months.

They also have threatened me before to black list me. (I have been a customer of theirs for years and always pay my bills). They also said I dealt with Phones4U and that I had a 24 month contract with them. But when I rang Phones4U, they told me they don’t sell 24 months contracts (From Managers mouth) only 18 month contracts.

I am going to ring Orange up tomorrow and I am extremely outraged by this.
I am not the richest of people and I feel they have treated me very badly and offered me very poor customer service.

    UPDATE!

I rang Orange up and they told me, that I was wrong and that I was on a 24 month contract with Phones4u. I therefore rang up Phones4u head office and they say they have no details of me and I am not a customer of theirs.

I then ring up orange, and they tell me I am with a different company THIS TIME, called 'excom'. I ring them up and they tell me they have no details of me again.

    WHY IS ORANGE LYING!

I then ring up orange again and another person says I am with phones4u again, I then tell them that both companies, they say I am with, have no details of me and that I am not their customer.
Orange than tell me I am with an 'existence third party' that they don’t know the name of. SO WHY WAS THEY TELLING ME THESE COMPANIES?

They then told me my phone got stolen, when it never has been.

I rang them up last year in June, wanting to cancel but they said I was on a 18 month contract and that the only way they can help me is if that I downgrade my contract to £35.00 a month, which they have not done since. Which I got told was done.

They then tell me that they made a mistake and that they are changing my contract to 18 months, and will be charging me £35.00 for the last two months I have.

Why have I been paying £55.00 a month since June 07? They wasted 4 hours phone time, which cost and will not be compensated whereas I should.

They Lied to me. Different people, told me different things. They were rude and obnoxious.

God I never received such bad customer service in my whole life.

Is their any thing I can do, because I am so close to taking this legally?
Also they said that the contract is a verbal thing and they cannot send me anything?

Am I in right or wrong?

    Thank you please help
  • Have you tried speaking to OFCOM? They do give out some good advice; regardless of where you got your phone from, Orange are the airtime provider and they should (in theory) deal with this.

Try this link, call and see what advice they offer:

Hope it works out for you.

You'll need to take the matter up with e2save.

As you signed up your contract through a 3rd party vendor, Orange will only accept a resiliation of the account through them.

I'm pretty sure Orange CS will tell you the exact same thing - don't know why they asked you to email them that.

best get in contact with e2save to avoid resting on your laurels in expecting a resolution by email Customer Services (i'm not saying they won't, but just be prepares in case they don't)

    Hello,

I have a question re the Orange PAYG Speak Easy with Free Text Trigger Reward.

Within certain sections of the Orange website it gives the following information re this tariff:

    clear.gifclear.gif£10 300 Texts
£20 600 Texts + free mobile internet browsing
£30 1000 Texts + free mobile internet browsing

However, when you look at the Orange PAYG Price Guide it gives the following information:

    http://www1.orange.co.uk/service_plans/downloads/payg_services_costs.pdf

What I would like to know is why on one section of the Orange webiste it states that you have to top up £10.00 per month to get inclusive internet access but on another section of the website it states you have to top up by £20.00??

Did you buy the contract through Orange or P4U if it was the latter I am not surprised you have got messed around...P4U have a pretty poor rep for miss selling IMO.
