My personal experience is, no, they don't. I have waited 3 months for the 'free gift' and keep getting fobbed off with the same template e-mail. I am not about to feel sorry for the fact they subcontract the work (if that is even true) - it shouldn't take 3 months to send a dvd. It's a con to get you to sign up with them, lots of people never get their 'free dvd', 'free movie ticket' or whatever was on offer to sign up to MMS. Then, you find it hard to leave when you realise the selection of dvd's is awful.

This is from the T&C's from the Wilkinson DVD Website:

"We will begin billing you for the agreed monthly subscription fees for the Wilkinsons DVD Rentals service once you have completed your Free Trial unless you cancel prior to the end of your Free Trial. We will continue to bill you by your chosen payment method on a monthly basis for the Wilkinsons DVD Rentals service unless and until you cancel. You must cancel your account by logging in using your username and password and following the “how to cancel” process before the end of your Free Trial to avoid charges. "

So by the sounds of it, either you weren't elligible for the free trial or you just forgot to cancel.

BTW: The DVD service is run by A PARTNER of Wilkinson, NOT WILKINSON THEMSELVES! So please do not give them a bad reputation

aaronmanz - I know what you mean, however, Wilkinson should vet all the partner companies they work with to be sure of 110% excellent service to customers. If they do not, and the service of the 3rd party company is low, then they are subject to being muddied with the same reputation. Nike, Coca Cola etc would never work with companies that could affect their reputation badly, and if they were affected, the 3rd party would have hell to pay...

I joined Wilkingson dvd rental and they "took" 14 pounds 47 p from my credit card so I called and told them off. Then the poor lass said it was a validation not a payment. Lo and Behold a few days later the money was back in my account. She was telling the truth. I feel like a right silly fool now. I felt even more of an old fool when I realised it is there in writing that this will happen. serves me right for not reading the terms and rules.

I have sent a letter to apologise as I really did give the girl hell.

I currently have free trials with Blockbuster, LoveFilm, MyMoviestream AND Wilkinson DVD rental. I think I am getting addicted to free stuff.
