I am sorry but i cant agree pc world have any bargains. I have just had a look at my usual and local supplier https://www.scan.co.uk and just to pick out one item as an exmaple an lg dual layer dvd writer from pc world is 45.98 with discount.
The same item at scan is £31.63. Thats a lage saving on an item that is fairly inexpensive to begin with. I have been building computers for over 10 years and have a lot of experience as a netowkr designer and i would never buy anything from pc world. If yu dont live near scan which many of you probably dont, use https://www.dabs.co.uk or even at a push ebuyer but please stay away from pc world

i bought a pc from them 3 weeks ago and all i've had is problems
finnaly took the pc back to the store and have never seen any thing like it at the customer sevice desk.
there were 4 custmoers in front of me and they were all trying to bring back faulty pcs. the way they were treated by the staff was disgraceful.i saw staff just walk away from customers they were dealing with because things got a bit difficult.
customers staging sit ins at the customers service desk.
staff using any excuse they could not swap or refund the customer
even as far telling customers to get a solictor.
even with my pc i was fobbed off. i rang the store to see if they would exchange my pc and they agreed.
went to the store 60 mile round trip got there and then they refused and then asked me if i had it writting that they would exchange my pc.
to be honest i think if your buying hardware they may be fine but i wouldnt advice any one to by a pc from them . they just dont care once they sold u the thing. if id seen aque like that at customers services before i bought my pc i would have walked out.
i bet it the the same at most pc world stores go in in the evenings and see for your self
Totaly agree, we bought pc and it went faulty, yook it back and were told 28 day warrenty i think we had it 36 days:eek: we had to let mastercare fix it, so they tried and failed, took it back to shop after calling trading standards, shop tried to fix it but wanted to replace just about everything in the pc so i called time on that and told them t.s would take over hey presto we got our refund. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Well I was looking for a KVM switch the other day and came across the [url=
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/971685]'BELKIN F1DK102P'[/url] for the online price of £17.99 on the PCW site.
This is the KVM that has the cables built in (but without audio support).
Anyway, it was marked up at what I reckon was an artificially inflated £44.99 which made it seem like a bargain. However, checking various other e-tailers, it can be found for about the same price as the PCW online price (give or take a few pennies).
Anyway, I was near to a PCW and decided to go and get one (saved the P&P)
Seems very well made (as does most if not all 'Belkin' stuff).
While in Staples a little later, I noticed they had the same KVM switch for an amazing £49.99.0 -

Yeah - bought my motherboard from SCAN, but PC World was much cheaper for sound card and speakers than anywhere on froogle, kelkoo, and all the usual places. Still got to shop around of course. PC world are usually overprised - hence I was surprised. The are cheapest for one of the latest best rated HP Printers as well - £79.99!Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
Come on psychy and rthirlby and wapow  - apologise now - you should all be ashamed of yourselves - I am reporting you all anyway0

PCW isn't always particularly cheap, but with the online discount it can be a bit more competitive. The big advantage for me is that if something doesn't work I can take it back for a refund and not have to pay postage, or wait a week for Ebuyer to read an enote. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

Mike,
The post was not meant to offend you or anyone else. It has and i apologise that it has offended you. I'll edit it so no one else get offended.
Kazzea,
I only just noticed Mike's reply. Why don't you be a good samaritan and find other posts that are slightly nonPC and report people. You can be like a virtual illuminous cop....get a job and a life.
