We live in Stratford, east London. We bought about 9 yrs ago very cheaply so can afford a knock on the value. We have our fingers crossed that where we live will not do so badly because of the Olympic regeneration, but who knows, it could just as well all turn out to be a complete dogs dinner. We do want to leave London but aren’t ready to go yet. Happy to stay for a couple more years but I don’t want to be here come 2012. Anyone from east London or got any thoughts on what the Olympics will mean for house prices?

ive just quit my job in stratford!!! couldnt bear travelling to newham everyday. i think you're wise to sit and wait for the olympics, the prices in stratford seem high and after this blip (or whatever you call it), i think again, its about supply and demand, so they will continue to rise. people will need to live there

I moved to Worcestershire. I'm a born and bred Londoner and I can categorically tell you that here, the grass is absolutely much greener. And it's not just the fact that we actually have grass here!

I absolutely adore living in London!

That's TCL or TLC or something isn't it! Yeah I guess we will miss that too...we got to Penge Food Stores, opposite Sainsbury's in Penge. I'm going to do a big store cupboard shop there before I move (Cans of olive oil, Olives in plastic tubs...) and of course all visitors will have their instructions....but with my fresh home grown veg, and zero food miles on my free range eggs, I think I'll be OK ;) If global warming carries on I could plant my own olives LOL!

I hate to say it...but Tesco in Cardigan has pretty much the same stock as Tesco in Elmers End. Except they do have a load of stuff plastered with 'WELSH PRODUCE' in big letters.

We've lost all the small shops in the local area here in Sydenham.

In what I hope will be my local high street in Wales, apart from the banks, and two small supermarkets, a spar and a morrisions, ALL of the other 30 or so shops are independant and include butchers, fishmongers, craft shops (things to make and do) as well as gift shops selling handmade stuff, several clothes shop with lovely stuff in the windows, a kitchen shop that has those nice trendy pastel coloured enamel accessories with the writing in Welsh as well as english, a small garden centre, and an old fashioned sweetie shop! (OK I am easily pleased) Cardigan even has a HOME BREW shop....even Boots don't sell homebrew stuff in London any more, I've had to buy off the 'net for years.

Nah...I don't think I am going to give London a backwards glance. Can't wait to go :j Just need to sell this place ...

    Regards

    Kate
