Carphone Warehouse Total Rip Off!

Any help would be nice. last year i purchased a phone on contract from the carphone warehouse, six months later went back and got one for my girlfriend. Her phone kept on breaking/ going faulty after 3 months and was repaired everytime, i was unhappy and said i wanted to cancel the contract i was told i was bound for 18 months and that was it.
i since fell on hard cash flow times and subsequently had a few d-debits returned (barclays were rubbing hands again! more bubbly for the shareholders doo!) one of these was the insurance for the phones. I had my phone stolen/or lost it -how do you know the difference? and luck being bad my girlfriends broke again after 6 ,months.
when i returned to the shop and asked if they would fix it i was told i would have to use my insurance i explained about the failed d-debit and was then told theres nothing we can do and the ins company lifelinme would not reinsure me cause 30 days had passed.
long and short i was paying £120 a month for two phones i no longer had or used for 6 months and decided enough was enough they reduced the one but then passed on the debt for the remainder of the 18 month contract to debt collecters which is at over £700 the joke of it is they sent me a bill for next month even after being told repeatedly last month they were cancelled and no more will be added. please help.....!

*just to put things into perspective i pay child maintenance for 3 children and there are arrears so i earn £1845 per month csa takes £710 my mortgage is £1040 and my c tax is £106 yes i am -£1 every pay day. If i dont pay these people which i cant can i go to court and explain my situation now? i have paid well in excess of what i think i should pay especially as i havnt used the phones for 6 mths but still paid!

Is your girlfriends phone still under warrenty? I read it as being 9 months old so you should be able to get it sorted under warrenty unless its damamged as for your phone is it possible that someone has ran up the huge bills in which case you should have reported it as soon as you discovered it and will be liable for call costs till you do notify the network. The insurance is unlucky as we all think we will never need it till we do but if your phone has been stolen could you claim your house hold insurance as in the past my phone has been covered with household but is now covered by the my bank account insurance.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
