To keep things REALLY simple, hows about a mosaic? Romans used them for decoration and as an artefact the pictures portrayed aspects of their everyday life. You don't have to use clay - here's a link with a simple idea requiring virtually no resources!
Or get some plasticene, form a fairly flat rectangle and mount on thick card. Inscribe a message in Latin - eg CAVE CANEM (beware of the dog)
Personally, it's a bit hopeful on the part of the teacher to expect too much!:D I wouldn't.0 -
Just a quick update for anyone interested - we went for the latin scroll, stained with tea, looks fab. Thanks everyone, esp quirkychemistry.
