Central Heating Cover, shop around

Just had renewal notice for central heating annual breakdown cover and despite direct debit discount and no call out bonus as I have not claimed in last year, my policy has gone up by a fair bit with British gas.

Searched for other providers and found on which gave same cover with E ON but nearlt 50 quid cheaper per year.

Phone Briitish gas to cancel and they asked why. Explained that I had found someone cheaper for same cover and got the usual do you know that is an introductory offer for first year only", of course I said but next year I will do the same comparison search.

Anyway they offered to price match so I have stayed with them.

I have saved lots over the past few months just by going on line and comparing. Although sometimes it can be time consuming, well worth it when there are such big savings to be made.

I think so many of these companies rely on customers not bothering to shop around and just accept the renewal price. Don,t as ther are always better deals or as was in my case they will price match.
