You Really Do Get A Better Contract if You Ask! O2

I used Martins money saving article on "battering down the cost of your contract" and it really does work.

I was on my 11th of 12 month contract. Im currently on O2 100 which gives 100 anytime, anyone mins and 500 texts for £25 a month. I quoted 2 better deals on Orange and Three and they beat them. They gave me a free upgrade to a Sony Ericsson K750i, usually £30, they gave me 100 extra minutes a month so Im now on 200 anytime anyone minutes and 500 texts, and all for £5 less per month, so only £20 a month line rental!

It works for O2 PAYG as well. I phoned them up and told them I was putting too much money in each month, and was thinking of a contract with someone else.

They offered me 500 anytime-anynetwork minutes for £23.50 a month (-10% every 3 months). Each month I credit my phone with £23.50 (this goes out in one payment) and all my calls are paid for with this plan.

The offer is called a 'call 500 bolt on'. It was the retentions department that offered it.

What did you say to them to get this deal? I am looking for a second O2 contract for my daughter and want to spend no more than £15pm.
