Somerfield remind of the way Safeway were before they were taken over.
Great offers, but a lot of the other items in store cost a lot more than other supermarkets.0 -
I work at Huntworth near Bridgwater. Not a bad place to work but the management? well let's put it this way, the saying "dead wood floats" is perfect for most of 'em.
As for the whole Somerfield is expensive. I agree. But what I tend to do is midweek stock up on fruit+veg+bread and while I am there grab some deals, so my ratio of normal price / deals means it's cheap.
The question mark over the freshness of stock is an irroneous one. There are only so many suppliers to the supermarkets and most deliver to several/all chains. example: one supplier used to drop off at our place then on to safeway. We have also had a mistaken delivery of onions that should have gone to tesco.
And the last dodgy thing I bought was a 6 pack of tomatoes from SAINSBURYS that had a split in one of them and fur in the split. so I would say wherever you shop, check the produce carefully."A goldfish left Lincoln logs in me sock drawer!"

lovebargains wrote:Grrrrrrr Somerfield are on my hate list at the moment. They are hopeless with special offers, they never have any! but as soon as the offer is over, stock is on the shelf. Also half the time they charge full price by mistake, thats if you manage to find any offers, and if i buy something reduced, they never notice the huuuuuge reduced bright yellow sticker! I am fed up of going back there the next day for refund! Moan over, feel beter now!
I thought Somerfield had Rainy Day vouchers (or are they Raincheck?) where they give you a voucher if the bogof item is sold out so you can go back and have it at the bogof price when stocks are back to normal.0 -

I picked up a Savings Stamp Leaflet(£50 card...with £3 free bonus !) from my local Somerfield tonight and my question is :-
